Ed Schultz suspended from MSNBC

Ed Schultz has been suspended from MSNBC for calling conservative talk show host Laura Ingraham a "right wing slut" on his syndicated radio show.
Schultz opened his primetime MSNBC show on Wednesday apologizing to Ingraham, MSNBC, his family and viewers.
"It doesn't matter that I was on radio ad-libbing," Schultz said of his comments the day before. "What I said was terribly vile."
Schultz met with MSNBC management earlier in the day on Wednesday, and said he offered to take himself off the air indefinitely and without pay. The network said the suspension would be one week.

I don't agree with Laura's politics (most of the time) but her show is very entertaining (ditto for Rush). I haven't listened to her show in quite some time because it was either dropped or changed times on the local station here. It would be interesting to hear her take on all of this.

Today, Ingraham - who got into it with Meghan McCain in 2009 - put an end to the mini-scandal, accepting her rival's contrite words and saying on her radio program: "He apologized, and I accept his apology. It seemed heartfelt, it seemed like he really wished he hadn't said it, and I accept the apology... I wish him the best. I wish his family the best."

I find Ingraham absolutely disgusting. That said, it's another example of how conservatives don't have the market cornered on misogyny.
