I only a couple of them, but they are very sweet girls, so the rest of the chapter must be too.

I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

I'm sorry but I did not really know any ASA's but I do know that was only two sororities on our campus to achieve getting a house ASA & Sigma Kappa- to this day- they are the only two - - I so wish we had a house so I think that is a great accomplishment!! Sue

That is awesome that she said you could be their phoenix man!! We just picked our new one and he brought us a ladybug cake the other day to chapter..it was so cute!! Keep in touch!

Our ASA chapter is really strong and has really nice women. Unfortunately, they were put on probation last semester for hazing new members. I hope they rebound from this, as they are a great chapter. The incident didn't seem to put a damper on their recruitment numbers though...they made quota.

That is so good to hear that they are so strong! Thanks for replying. He he that is so funny about hazing, some of our other chapters have been getting in trouble for hazing lately, i think to a point hazing would be fun but guys take it to serious sometimes. My chapter does not haze what so ever it is really strict on our campus, but i heard that the AOPi's do on my campus but i dont know for sure? Are you in a sorority?

Yes ASAgirl, I'm in Delta Phi Epsilon. I don't know what the sororities at my school are doing anymore, with the exception of my own, because they are part of my region over which I'm a regional coordinator. They told me about the ASA hazing violation. Where do you go to school ASAgirl?

That is a very serious accusation. If you don't know for sure then why mention it?

Im sorry I didnt mean to offend anyone...I was just saying that I think minor hazing is not that bad, but when it comes to putting peoples lives in danger...I think it is WRONG..and no if that is the behavior my fellow chapters are doing it does not amuse me..i said hehe b/c it just sound weird to me to hear that because my chapter is SO very strict about it and we do nothing like that we all respect each others as greek women. And as for other sororities hazing it wasnt an accusation I have been told that by members of that sorority, but I didnt mean anything bad about them or anything..they are nice girls and I cant do anything about there issues. Once again, I'm sorry I didnt mean to offend anyone.

Yes, there is a chapter of ASA at my school, and yes, they did get in trouble for hazing. It really wasn't funny. The story can be read at www.buvoice.com in the Fall 2000 archives. I don't remember the date on the story.
I'm glad to hear you hung out with the girls at Miami. They are fantastic! I hung out with a lot of them at our convention in Miami. Did you happen to meet a woman named Alex? She is the most awesome sister I have ever met

Please tell me that you are not talking about Alex with long black curly hair, b/c none of her sisters even like her in fact they are hoping she terminates so they dont have to deal with her. I hope that is not the Alex your talking about because she isnt as awesome as she made you think she is, trust me!
