Scrapbooking

Okay. I have tons of pictures of various things from college. I have to do something with them. I would like to put them in a scrapbook.

I think that the IDEA of scrapbooking is good, but lots of the pages I see actually draw more attention to the page than the pictures. I would like to scrapbook in a way that is complimentary to the pictures, not overbearing or gaggingly cutsey.

Does anyone have any experience with this, or understand what I mean about what I want out of it?

I do mine on regular plain white sticky acid free pages, but I decorate around the pcis so that the PICS are the focus. I cut shapes out of colored paper or wrapping paper, put quotes from magazines, write on the page w paint pen. It looks fun and festive, but it is not too much/busy like some of the scrapbooking backgrounds are.

Awesome star turtle! I can't wait to see them!

I am literally rummaging through every pic I took in college for this...there are lots, but I also have rush name tags, place cards, agendas, you name it. I want a way to include all of the stuff I have hung onto.

he he

I have also heard that this is not a cheap hobby...

Scrapbooking's costs do add up...but the end result is totally worth it. I was looking at the scrapbooks I made for senior year of high school (I had so many pics and stuff I had to make two volumes!) and they were so simple but must have cost like $500 (if you include the cost of film developing...). So far my freshman year of college has way way more pics and stuff, and it's great to look back remember what you did. Sort of a storybook to your own life!

dilemma

my problem is this - my scrapbook is a 12x12 size, and my scanner is only about 10x12 - this cuts two vital inches off of my pages - the pictures above are huge, yes, but i can't figure out how to get all of my page into the scan. - anyway this gives you an idea - and if you want more, i'd be happy to scan them again - and make the files smaller - hope this helps!

Can you just post a link so that we can go see it on a web page? I don't know how to make them show up in a thread.

I love scrapbooking. It's so much fun and you can put more than just pictures in them. I'm making a Pi Phi scrapbook for all of my active days and I have everything: Rush schedules, my bid card, balloons, notes from my Guardian Angels, pictures and some songs. I want my scrapbook to be more than just pictures so I also journal in it, talking about I-week and how much I loved initiation (without discussing ritual). I hope my scrapbook will become my memory of my college days!

Cute scrapbook pages star turtle!

I am definitely going to do this.

I am frustrated right now because I cannot find pictures of formal rush! I have everything else! I know that there are pictures somewhere and they are cute. I will have to call my big and get her to make some color copies. She has pictures of everything.

Well, I am off to sort stuff so I can get started.

thanks!

the page that you see them on now will eventually be an entire page about scrapbooking (as part of my huge, outragous webpage) but i'm not sure if i like how they are scanning yet - i have some really good pages, like fall informal party, homecoming float, sig tau formal, both of my dz formals, etc. just not sure about the whole scanning thing. plus i have tons of disney pages to scan too - who knows. for now the web will have to be content with the real webpage, and not just the test part!

=)
