GPA

Hello I just transferred to a new school this august and found interest in a sorority. I didn't make the GPA requirement this semester, but my GPA from my other school WELL exceeds the requirement. Will they take into consideration that I have only one semester of grades from my current school and that I am fairly new? Should I make this up in other areas of importance?

This seems like the kind of thing you would have to ask your school's Greek Life office. They will be able to give you a much better answer than anyone here.

The most probable answer is that no, your old GPA won't count. It would be like not transferring, rushing as a sophomore, and trying to argue that they should take your HS GPA since it was better. Once you've got a GPA from a current school, that's probably what they're going to consider.

Of course I could be wrong. As FleurGirl said, check with your school's Greek Life office. They are the only ones who can give you a definitive answer. But I would prepare for the worst.

And if your GPA is too low, no amount of anything else will help. And if it's too low to rush, getting your GPA up should be your first and possibly only priority. (If it's just "low" in the sense that it's CLOSE to the minimum, then yes, other activities may help. But you should still be focused on getting your grades up. If it's below minimum, you're pretty much SOL this semester).
