Dallas Tornado

Well, that bitch known as Hermine decided to show her ass in Dallas today. We had a tornado touch down very close to my office this evening. Also, there's been a great deal of flooding (I know that the Trinity overflowed earlier, and a lot of access roads have been closed).

Videos:

Just wanted to make sure other DFW GCers are OK.

ETA: Also, a lot of central and south Texas is flooding. The city that my mom works in had 10-15 inches. Crazy.

I've been in Texas for about 12 years now, so I've been through multiple storms. I've never been this close to a tornado, though. My morning commute was HORRIBLE (flooding everywhere + Dallas drivers that already don't know how to drive = long commute), but I still wasn't expecting anything too severe. It was "tame" as far as storms are concerned, but I was still awestruck, considering how close I was.

i work in arlington, and was mostly oblivious to the weather other than it raining most of the day. apparently my job is in the one part of arlington that was not flooded today, thankfully.

A bunch of my college friends still work at UTA, and they said flooding was the worst in south Arlington.

I drive through Irving, but decided to take Irving Blvd this morning. It was a nightmare. That street is extremely low, and at one point, passes over the Trinity. There were times that I couldn't even see past my windshield -- the rain was that bad.

My office is near Northpark, and one of the tornadoes (I found out there were multiples) touched down at Love Field.

I work in Plano, but live between Oak Lawn and HP (northside of Lemmon Ave). I stayed late at school yesterday and was getting ready to leave when tornado sirens went off in Plano. They said a funnel cloud was spotted in west Plano. There was a volleyball game going on, we had to move everyone out of the gym and into side hallways for about 45 minutes. I finally go to go and the rain was horrible going on the North Dallas Tollway. The kind where you seriously can't see.

Just glad no one was injured and all DFW GCers and others are safe.

My cousin was visiting my uncle in the hospital when the tornado came though. They evacuated all patients into the hallways. Scary.

Sucks that I don't hear this news up here.

I was watching it live on KDFW on the net. I lived in Dallas for 20 years in the Prestonwood area of Far North Dallas and can only imagine how terrified I would have been.

Had some horrid storms and close calls and ginormous hail storms but thankfully dodged tornadoes. Very glad to hear that there were no large numbers of folks with life threatening injuries.
