Yikes!
Now that recruitment is upon us, I'm nervous! It's also not so thrilling that the weather tomorrow is calling for storms. What PNM doesn't like to be drenched while lightning flashes?
Any tips to keep makeup in place during the rain? I use primers, but they're no good if they wash off, too! I suppose purchasing an umbrella is in my not-so-distant future.

Buy two in case you lose one (seriously. I lose umbrellas and mittens every year). Target has really cute mini-umbrellas on sale now.

I don't wear much makeup, so I can't speak to that point (except to say less is better in the rain), but if you have hair that is easily influenced by humidity (and that, I can discuss at length), I'd consider wearing it in a twist or chignon or out of your face with a cute headband.
Your Rho Chis aren't going to let you get struck by lightning, and they'll do what they can to keep you from going into each house looking like a drowned rat.
That said, when dressing, think of shoes that can withstand a little worse weather, and fabrics that will stand up to rain better (linen and silk are notorious for wilting in humid weather).
And of course, stay positive. You can't control the weather, but you can control your reaction to it.

Oh yes, my hair will do some crazy things in humidity. Parts of it will go limp like an overcooked noodle while other parts puff up like a rabid oodle. Poodle noodle? A little bit of serum can help a teensy bit, but it's better than nothing.
I don't mind the rain so much as lightning.

You've just got a few buildings to go between (knowing the campus) and there is a very good chance that the storms will stay south *fingers crossed*. I agree with the suggestion of wearing light/little make-up. Just remember that there will be hundreds of other PNMs going through the same weather so you will not be alone or stand out like a sore thumb. Use the casual dress to your advantage with footwear and bring something (umbrella, coat, etc.) to try and stay dry if infact the weather turns wet. I would choose wet over hot/humid any day but maybe that's just me. As always, best of luck!

Kansas City, I had a little panic going "SHE KNOWS WHERE I'M LIVING?" when I remembered nearly every building on campus is near another unless you live on the outer edges or off-campus. I learned tonight just how much pizza girls can eat.
I'm thinking the casual dress will be a relief. Heck, they even GIVE us a t-shirt for the first day! Even if the t-shirt does have an extra sorority listed on it. It's nice to not have to throw together a full outfit every day.

Huh, I guess Panhel is recycling some tees from last year? Oh well, the more letters the merrier. : ) I hope you had a good time at Showcase this evening. I'm looking foward to helping out behind the scenes this weekend and am really craving some pizza about now.

It was fun, especially getting to know the PNM group, one of my group leaders said they used the same shirts. The technical difficulties were amusing, although the slow clap seemed a bit rude, as if putting the girls on the spot.
I hope you have fun, although I bet behind the scenes work can get pretty hectic at times.

It's cloudy and a bit rainy, but last time I checked, nothing major. Phew! For now anyway.
I leave in just a little bit to go meet my group and I'm so nervous, but excited!
