Bon Voyage!
I am excited for my first backpacking experience, eventhough it will be in Summer 2002
As I realize now, planning and organizing backpacking is not an easy job, but since I am really into it, I am happy I am planning to visit 12 countries and about 26 cities in Europe, and then I am curious with other experiences and thoughts.
So, what other country(ies) do you guys want to visit sometime? Why? Any backpacking experiences (especially in Europe) I should know about?

Voyeur
What is voyeur? Since I don't speak French, I have no idea what that is.
France would be nice, but I mainly focus on Eastern Europe: Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary and some of Western: Austria, Switzerland and Germany.
Valkyrie, Lithuania sounds scary for now, since I have a little knowledge about the country. Is it safe to visit Lithuania/Russia?

I really want to go to Prague, Amsterdam, and Dublin. I'm spending Spring 2002 in Rome, so I'll definitely get a chance to check them out.
I know it's difficult to visit Russia, but it can be done--and it's sooo cheap to live large there!
A "voyeur" is someone who likes to watch people without them knowing. It's gotten a sexual connotation, but I think it first came from people watching others in parks, streets, etc.

Wow! I'm so jealous too!!!!! I so wanna go to Europe someday! My husband was born in Poland and I'd love to go there to meet my new family (all his aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents are still there.....as well, his dad also just got remarried the month before us and Art's stepmom is also from Poland....so there's lots of new family for all of us to meet!!!)
We're planning a trip to Europe for my graduation present....we'll probably go for a month and see Poland, Germany, England, France....and if possible I wanna go see Italy too! It should be a cool trip...Art and I will fly from Florida and his dad and stepmom are going to fly from Nova Scotia....we're gonna meet somewhere in Europe and travel together!!!
Keep us informed on how the trip goes....and any advice you can give me after you return would be great!!!
Good luck with planning!!!

I really like Insbruck (ya know, I'm not sure I spelled that correctly, but I'm too lazy to check right now), Florence, Venice and Lucerne -- and of course Paris and London are two of the world's great cities.

As far as I know, it's okay to travel to Lithuania and probably Russia. For travel warnings, you can check
http://travel.state.gov/travel_warnings.html
If you have any other questions about Lithuania, let me know because I could probably ask around and find answers.
Have fun!!
