Who is the 39th Grand Basileus Dr. Andrew Ray?
Dr. Andrew A. Ray was born in Centreville, Mississippi. He started his formal education in a two-room church school and completed his elementary and secondary education in the New Orleans, Louisiana Public School System. He achieved academic distinction by winning Bronze and Silver Medals in statewide competition, while graduating in the top 20 in a class of 395.
Bro. Ray's post secondary education includes a Bachelor's degree in Economics (Southern University), three Master's degrees and a Ph.D. He has demonstrated a life-long commitment to learning through his study and internships at 13 colleges and universities which include Yale University, American University, Loyola University, the University of Wisconsin, the University of Ghana (West Africa) and the University of California. Bro. Ray had the privilege of being selected as a Foreign Affairs Scholar in the Department of State and a Presidential Fellow in the United States Congress (Washington, DC.).
His career experiences include work in industry, education, community and government service.Bro. Bro. Ray's life in Omega began as the Neophyte Basileus of Beta Sigma Chapter (Southern University). He led the Chapter to major honors in the Ninth District. In Theta Omicron Graduate Chapter of Rochester, NY he has held every elected office and numerous committee positions. He has served on district committees and as Corridor Representative, First Vice District Representative and District Representative (Second District). Internationally, he served on the Supreme Council and chaired the International Membership Committee and the Charles Drew Scholarship Commission. His Ritualistic and Rededication work is in high demand throughout Omega. He serves as a Co-Chair of the Centennial Celebration Committee. Brother Ray believes that leadership must be actualized by deeds, in order to enhance Omega's legacy.
