Hello all,
I am looking for some advice. I am 22 and will be starting at ASU this fall. I am actually going to be attending online courses over the summer and then will actually be attending school in the fall.
I am VERY interested in joining a sorority. I am the first in my family to go to college so I don't have any female family who has gone through the process. I know some schools are extremely competitive...I was just wondering if someone could maybe comment on some things I was concerned about, especially as it might relate to me rushing at ASU:
- My age (22)
- I was accepted as a transfer student, however, I will most likely be considered a freshman because I only had five classes be accepted towards my degree program (nursing)
- My transfer GPA is a 3.1 - however, the courses that I am transferring are from a Comm College in my home state of Washington that I earned during a dual college-while-in-high-school program. If I do well in my summer courses, since those are more recent, will it help my chances?
- Tempe is the main campus, however, I will be attending the downtown Phoenix campus because that is where my degree program is centered. Will I be at a disadvantage?
- Last but definitely NOT least: I am married. My husband and I are both going to be going to college, he is 26. We live in an apartment. I want to join a sorority very badly, and my husband is supportive of the time and financial obligations. We have no children, and we have never been married before. I'm hoping that this will not ruin my chances.
I will be at ASU for 4 full years so hopefully I will get to fulfill my dream

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help. Also - Recs @ ASU, are they necessary?
