Questions about my rushing, so far

I've been to 5 fraternities. The first one, I went out to eat with the president; he invited me to a party but I said I couldn't go (I really did have a prior obligation). I haven't heard from them since. The second one, I got a brief house tour, prefunked with some of the guys, then went to party. I haven't heard from them since. The third one, I just got a house tour and talked with the president. I have heard from them since. The fourth one, I just sort of hung out there last weekend and then again during the middle of this week. They'll probably be inviting me over soon, though I'm not that interested in their house. The fifth one, BBQ and hung out last weekend. I thought they'd invite me over again this weekend but they haven't yet (Yes, I know it's only Friday). Another place called me about coming over last weekend; I said I was booked and to call me again, but they haven't yet.

If a house doesn't goes a week without calling me, should I just assume they're not interested? I'm not the kind of dude who likes to invite myself over.

WTF is "prefunked"? Like pregaming?

Damn, I haven't even graduated and you kids are changing the terminology.

Um, this is a tricky one. I would say if there were any you were really interested in, to give somebody a call and hint that you want to hang out. Or call a brother and invite him to lunch or something. The ones who you haven't heard back from might assume you were not interested and making excuses. Though I do have to ask, are you a high school student?

Invite a dude to lunch? That's sort of weird. Should I just text some guys and ask them if there's any opportunities for me to come visit tonight or tomorrow?

Your sentence doesn't make sense (no offense intended). You mean they might assume I'm not interested, and they might be making excuses? You mean they assume I'm not interested and I'm making excuses? Huh? I've gone to everything I've been invited to, except for one party, and that was because I had another party that I had committed to.

No. I attend the school with the Greek system of which I am interesting in joining.

I feel like I'm cooler than half the guys in every house I've visited. I definitely want enough chances to hang out---enough that my personality can manifest itself. I've gone to a few places where I just got a house tour, got asked some questions, and then left with a "we'll tell you what we have coming up" type thing. I just get a little antsy when a week goes by since I last visited a place that I actually liked.

How are you rushing when school is about to be out? Shouldn't you have already picked a house to have been rushing. I know that my pledge class was already initiated about a week ago.

If that's the attitude you're putting across, no wonder you're not getting asked back.

Although I'm w/ gmIII - why are you rushing now? Is your school on quarters or trimesters or something?

Yeah, and I thought rushing could be done anytime of year.

Yeah? Yeah what? Is this rushing to start pledging next fall, or to start pledging now?

It can......

..but if you were really concerned with not being invited back, and you were on a semester system (which I thought you were), I would have said, "Um.. school is almost over, if it isn't already. The brothers are probably more concerned with finals, summer vacation and graduating.. not with who to invite to their house."

However, if the brothers are actually holding rush events right now, that's a different story. Although, based on what you said you've done with the brothers so far, I'm not sure if that's what's happening here...

THIS is probably why you're in the situation you are.
