Rushing at Mizzou???

1) don't even know if I will be rushing ('cos I'm sort of a first generation potential rusher) at Mizzou, so I don't really know if it's right for me. I'm assuming I'm kind of talking to the wrong crowd.

Anyway.

I'm graduating this year from High School and My GPA is pretty much in the dumps. It's definitely toeing the line.

Should I even bother rushing?

Part of me feels like I should take a year of college to get my academic act together, but at the same time, there seems like a lot the Greek system has to offer in terms of a support system.

ugh...

I don't know, but there are a couple of Mizzou threads on here that you may want to read and see if there's anything helpful there. Good luck.

Does your GPA meet both the panhellenic requirement and that of the chapters?

If your GPA sucks, you might want to first worry about getting into college (you do have to send your final transcript to colleges that admit you...)

Ha! My thoughts exactly, but I probably wouldn't have asked in such a medical way!

If you are looking for a straight answer, just based on your GPA, can you tell us what it is? (Not looking to snark, just trying to be honest).

Oh, and what 33girl asked.

If your grades are really in shambles, you may have some problems. I think PH min is still a 2.5? But a lot of houses will do "paper cuts" after the first round, and that's where you will see the effect of your GPA. If you have lower than a 3.2-ish you may have limited options.

Also don't forget, you'll need a good GPA at Mizzou if you want to apply for a popular major, get into the business or journalism schools, etc.

I have many friends at Mizzou who are members of sororities.

Like most colleges, grades/GPA are a pretty large factor into whether or not you receive a bid.

Like annabella said, many houses will cut girls on the first round based solely on rather they meet grade requirements. If you believe that your GPA is high enough to pass through that round, what do you have to lose?

Look at the threads on the bottom of this page for more information.
