Chairs and officers

I was wondering if there is any complete list of possible chairs available online, or if anyone could just tell me...we're a pretty small chapter but we're trying to better distribute responsibility and open up some new chairs. So far we've got ritual, webmaster, music....and of course the regular board. Thanks ladies! SLAM

Hi there! There are ALOT of chairs. There are some that you need to have, and some that vary by chapter. Some chairs are more work than others, so they can organize committees to help them with things

When you have your LC visit, she should tell you which ones are a must, if you don't already have them.

Here's some important ones:

*ritual chair (of course)

*sisterhood chair-plans sisterhood events for the chapter (bowling, movie nights, etc)

*RPM chair- (important) plans whatever your chapter Robbie Page Memorial event is. This chair had a committee in my chapter to help them come up with ideas, plan, and put on the event.

*risk management chair-(very important) ensures that your chapter is complying with ALL of Tri Sigma's national policies involving hazing, alcohol, chapter housing, etc. This chairwoman is responsible for submitting all risk management-related paperwork in a timely manner and making sure that everyone is aware of Sigma's risk management guidelines.

*Triangle correspondent- submits your chapter's update to the magazine.

*efficiency chair- makes sure that all officers and chairwomen know when any documents need to be submitted to National Headquarters and makes sure that they are completed correctly.

*social chair-organizes formals, date parties, crush parties, and coordinates socials with fraternities (following the Sorority policies). Ensures that all social events you hold are in compliance with Sorority policies regarding alcohol, transportation, and third-party vendors.

*Public relations chair- organizes a PR plan for the chapter. Responsible for creating promotional materials related to chapter events such as recruitment, RPM, etc. Ensures that all members reflect a positive image of Tri Sigma at all times.

*Community service chair- organizes group service opportunities for the chapter throughout the year, makes members aware of individual service opportunities available on campus and in the community.

We also have a chair called "sunshine". They always do super fun things during meetings to lighten the mood and give a good break. Usually like around Christmas we do a secret santa. Recently, we started a Sister-of-the-week thing where the chair stands up and describes a sister. Everyones writes down their guess of who it is on the paper and whoever gets it gets a lil prize like a candy or something.

As a way to get more sisters involved we adopted a few other chairs in addition to sunshine... We have a Fundraising Chair which takes care of our RPM fundraiser as well as other events for our chapter's funds, and a Music Chair who makes it a point to teach us Sigma songs. Although if you are small, we seem to get by just fine by having Efficiency, Fundraising/Philanthropy, Risk Management, Ritual, and Sisterhood/Social chairs.
