Greek Life Statistics
I was in a meeting the other day with my university administration. They made a blanket comment that Greek life is dying across the country as a way to support their lack of support for Greek life on campus. According to the NPC Annual report, they are having record numbers.
Does anyone have any other suggestions where I can find statistics on Greek life success?

NPC's website has a report of NPC Statistical Information June 2009
Some individual campuses provide statistical data as well. Alabama's Greek Life webpage has a Greek Membership Growth Chart 1998-2008. Please note it has not been updated yet for 2009. (For some reason that link is not working this morning. There must be some technical problems because I was just looking at both this page and that report a couple of days ago.)

Weird, it's working for me now too. Must have been a short term glitch.

Your university administration does not exactly have a history of hitting it out of the park with smart decisions/comments on Greek life.

A very recent article gives some data for the U of Colorado. Note that the numbers for the fraternities are not yet complete:

Excerpts from much longer article:
Fraternities and sororities at the University of Colorado are booming.
Five years after the Greek system at CU took a hit following the alcohol-poisoning death of a freshman fraternity pledge, nearly 2,000 men and women turned out for fall rush earlier this month.
A record 976 women participated in fall recruitment activities for CU's nine sororities, said Courtney Krebs, a CU senior and the Panhellenic membership recruitment coordinator. Of those, 700 accepted bids to join a house, bringing the total number of sorority sisters at CU to 1,833, she said.
Last fall, there were about 1,200 CU women in sororities, Krebs said.
"It's the biggest, most successful recruitment the University of Colorado has ever had" . . . .
Membership in fraternities is also on the rise. About 940 men attended at least one fall rush activity, said Marc Stine, a Greek advocate who works for the 14 off-campus fraternities. At the end of rush week, 338 men were invited to join a fraternity; another 360 did not receive an invitation, he said. That's 300 more than last year, when 60 potential pledges were turned away, Stine said.
Today, there are 1,184 fraternity brothers in Boulder, a number that will likely increase this week because potential pledges have until Saturday to decide whether to accept the fraternities' invitations, Stine said. That's up from 2006 -- the first year for which Stine has data -- when there were 903. . . .

This article makes me smile. I'm of the opinion that the numbers are absolutely fantastic, especially with relations starting to warm between the University and the fraternities.

I'd like to know where they are getting their BS from. I advise at a school where Greek life has exploded this past year. We just finished recruitment and had more PNMs than the previous 2 years COMBINED!

At my school, interest in Greek Life skyrocketed about three years ago and interest has remained pretty high. Over the past few years, a lot of the Greek Orgs here have doubled in size after just a semester. This semester, though, actually yielded a lot of poor results for the fraternities but really good for the sororities. One of our fraternities actually has no pledges.
