NPHC Process of taking in new members

Hi, I'm in my last year of highschool but know what college and sorority I want to be in. I want to be in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. I needed help with a couple questions I had. NPHC fraternities and sororities dont have houses? What can I do to better my chances of becoming a member? Does it matter if you have a visible piercing? Also whats the process of trying to become a member of any NPHC organization? I have been on the website and studied the history. Also what can make me better prepared?
