When was your Chapter chartered (founded)?
For some strange reason I thought it would be interesting to know when your Chapter was founded and anything interesting about your chapter.
I'll start
Delta Zeta was founded May 26th, 1950. DZ is the 1st undergraduate chapter of New Jersey.

Great Topic Soror
The Omicron Theta chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated was chartered on February 28, 1981 at Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio. It became the 678th chapter of DST.
My undergraduate chapter was born in the midst of professors not wanting a Black sorority on campus. Twenty years later it remains the only CHARTERED Black Sorority on campus. I want that to change because if Wittenberg is truly committed to diversity, it needs to understand that not ALL Black young ladies want to be a member of DELTA SIGMA THETA SORORITY, INC. Although I find that HARD to understand (THIS IS A JOKE of LOVE)

Magnificent Lambda Chapter
Osceola Macarthy Adams and Marguerite Young Alexander, two of Delta Sigma Theta's beloved Founders, planted the first Delta seed in Chicago. In 1919, Lambda Chapter was organized of at the University of Chicago. In 1931, Lambda was designated as the Chicago undergraduate chapter by Delta Sigma Theta's Grand Chapter. Lambda Chapter holds the distinction of being the only undergraduate chapter chartered by two of Delta's Founders.

P.S. A chapter tradition is the oldest on the line is named after a liquor, hence "bourbon".

April '96 was the founding day
For Sigma XI is oh so great
The 9 founders of the Delta Force
Laid the foundation for others of course
Here we are in our Crimson and Cream
We brought to life our Delta dream
We followed our hearts
And we're here to say......
OO-OOP!!!
We pledged the only way!!!

Sorors and Sisterfriends....
On March 23, 1974, the University of Alabama witnessed the birth of the first African-American Sorority on its predominately white campus. Following the example set forth by our Beloved 22 founders, the Elite Eleven of the LAMBDA ZETA chapter set a precedent that my chapter of initiation continues to follow 27 years later.
I am so proud to say that we have implemented many programs on our campus. My chapter has many programs throughtout the year coordinated in conjunction with Delta's Five Point Thrust. A few of the programs that I am most proud of are: the Delta Book club, Adopt a Freshman mentoring program, we do Trick or Treat for UNICEF, Stillman Heigths Tutoring Program, Financial and Career Planning Seminars. And last school year one of our largest programs was held in conjunction with World Aids Awareness Day...we brought our DiSTinguished Soror, Rae Lewis Thornton on our campus to educate us on this terrible disease which is ravaging our communities at such an alarming rate.
I am sorry Sorors that this was so long Needless to say as you all can see, my chapter of initiation is my heart and I am so proud of all of the work we have accomplished as a collegiate chapter. I'm sure you all can see who runs the yard!!!
OOOOO-OOOOOP
