Hands down the winner on my campus is the Theta Chi house. (And unlike a lot of fraternity houses, it was even relatively clean on the inside!)

That's the comment that my house always gets from EVERYONE. Most people (almost every girl, and most guys) will compliment the cleanliness of the Beta house here at Nebraska b/c it is clean, and the furninshings are actually of high quality. I'm also told that we have the best women's bathroom of any fraternity.
From the outside I would say that the nicest frat house is Fiji's but that's only from the outside.
The sorority houses are all pretty equal, but of course I can't see all the insides so some may be much better than others.

my .03 cents today
(hope everyone is having a great day, btw: happy founders day (from this weekend) to kappa sig, and happy founders day tomorrow to sig pi )

Gee golly, i sure wish my campus had houses for sororities..... we only have two fraternity houses left and two fraternities live in one and the Sig Eps live in the other. I would have to say the Sig Eps because (while the outside isn't necessarily pretty) they have tons of artwork on the walls inside from past brothers. Almost every wall has a mural of some kind. They are not allowed to paint over any work that a brother painted in the house. Plus, they were the only ones that were able to keep their house! Our school wants to tear down all the houses in favor of townhouse-type dorms that will have lockers and a room for each groups ritual stuff, but I'm not too down with that. We need houses!!!

No more than half of the fraternities on my campus even have a physical house, but most of those who do have nice old Victorian-style houses. Very cool!!

the nicest fraternity house at sdsu is sae. they have a clean house with nice architecture, big backyard and lots of parking (something hard to find in SD).
the nicest sorority house in my opinion is alpha phi. they have a house with interesting architecture, and is designed for the 70's. it's really cool. they have custom hand placed brick and tile.

Nicest house at UCF...I'd have to say it's between KD and ZTA. Both houses had recently gotten a new addition added onto it. When I went through recruitment, it was KD hands down but ZTA recently got an addition over the summer. As for fraternity houses, my personal preference is the Sigma Chi house. It looks like an old southern style home and the inside is spacious.

OK, I am not trying to be baised at all, but seriously everyone says us Alpha Gam's have the best house at UMich for fraternities and sororities. Its has one of the best locations to classes and its just gorgeous overall. I would say that Sigma Kappa and Chi-O tie for sororities. For fraternities I would have to say Beta, Chi Phi and FIJI's house the LXA is renting out.

UMgirl, did you live in that incredible house? All of those Michigan houses are so beautiful. I really like my DPhiE sisters' house. I'm wondering approximately how many people live in these houses? It's hard to tell from a photograph how large they are, but they look huge to me.

I am being totally unbiased when I say that my chapter has the nicest greek house in Clarion. Its huge (keep in mind that our total for sororities is 60... and most groups are around 45ish)
Our house has a big living room, we just got new furnature, TV and VCR. We have a nice sized kitchen. 10 bedrooms (2 singles, 8 doubles of different sizes) a single bath downstairs, and a bath with 2 showers. 3 toilet stalls and 3 sinks upstairs. Plus in our basement we have a huge chapter room, and a huge storage 'closet' called krugers, which is really the basement of the origional house... so its BIG!!!

I'm not making fun because I know everywhere is different but it sounds so funny to see you describe a house that 18 people can live in as BIG. My house holds nearly 80 and I'm sure some schools would think that is small!

hmmmmmm...at bgsu in ohio, i'd prolly have to go with the kappa kappa gamma house as far as sororities are concerned (delta gamma is runner up) just cause their house is drop dead gorgeous inside. [insert house envy here]. and as for the guys, i tend to prefer the phi kappa tau house. very nice...and clean!! heh heh.

Can you believe that I had the sorority house all to myself last summer and DID NOT throw one party?!?! I was a very good girl. the house mom was there to, but she went away for a week and always worked late. From the alum newsletter i just got they just got a big screen (looks to be about 50 inches), DVD, and surround sound entertainment center. Why do I have a feeling that a lot of frats. are going to be over at the house during football season
I forgot to add DPhiE's house to the list. It not only beautiful on the outside, but so gorgeous on the inside. I forgot that I saw the inside of it for rush. Plus you have to love their huge circular parking lot. I know you can tell from the pics, but if you click on them (if you didnt) you'll get an enlarged image of them which kinda gives you a better hint of how big they actually are.The house actually use to be a fraternity house, as was Sigma Kappa's (bought from Phi Psi).
UM greek houses can usually sleep anywhere from 40-70+ ppl (AGD's being the one to sleep the most, specially if you make alot of rooms triples).
Betarulz-- Id just like to say that Beta has some of the cleanest bathrooms and a clean womansroom at UM. I know a buch of sororities who would love to have their house. They have a Gone With the Wind staircase that has a balcony going around the whole room, and leads to a outdoor balcony. Its awesome for parties.
