We have "skit night" where different organizations perform a skit. Our skits have a certain theme. Since Homecoming is usually around Halloween, UCF has incorporated a "nightmere" theme. We have a man-made pond at the front of school. There's an event called "spirit splash" where all the students spend the day in the pond with lots of water fights. We also build floats and have a parade on Church Street in Downtown Orlando.

Thumbs up

This year, our Homecoming is huge, because it coincides with Inauguration! We're inaugurating our first female and our first AA president--yay! It's this weekend.

We do a lot of stuff for our alumnae, and we're doing even more for this year, since so many people are coming for Inauguration. We're having a big tailgate party on Saturday, followed by a post-game reception (we're inviting professors and deans). Then on Sunday, we're having a reception, where we invite prospective new members. So...a packed weekend indeed!

You go to Brown right? I just saw some feature about her on the news. They were talking about bringing honor and leadership back to the post of university president. They also discussed the actions she's taken to increase and encourage diversity of all kinds at the school. She seemed really cool!

Here the greeks have competitons like sidewalk chalk, lip sing contest, and the homecoming float contest. A fraternity gets paired up with an sorority when we compete that week. TKE got paired up with ADPI this year and I believe we won sidewalk chalk allready but I can't confirm it. Thats what I heard at least.

Our Homecoming was last weekend, we won. Our Greeks have a float contest, then the fraternities all have parties at the tailgate before them game. It's a weekend that a lot of our alumni come to visit, too. It's always a good time, i'm also going to the U of I homecoming as well.

For homecoming (at least when I was at Penn State) we had a homecoming parade, where fraternities and sororites paired up and also other organizations (didn't have to be Greek). There was a float competition, a madhatter competition, and a banner competition. There was a Crazy Band competition, where each "group" had some members lip sync and dance to a song of their choice related to their Homecoming float theme. There was a Scavanger hunt all around campus (that was tiring). Homecoming King and Queen competition. Parties, tailgates and of course the football game.

For Homecoming at Elon, the fraternities have open house parties on Friday night, which is so much fun because you get to see everyone from the past and still hang out with present students. On Saturday, I know that AOTT does a alumni brunch down at the house and there is also a parade down main street, with floats from all different orginzations. Afterward, everyone heads to the football game and then the fraternities have invite only dances that night. Sunday is just a day of rest and of the alum leaving--its always a rough weekend and by Sunday, you are in need of a good nights sleep!!
