Starting a New Frat, In Australia

Hey guys/girls... I'm currently living in Australia and i really like the idea of frats etc etc... im currently studying at the QUT (Queensland Uni Of Technology) and im not sure how one would go about trying to create one... alot of my collegues are really interested in starting one aswell. What should i be looking to do, or how would be the best way to do things? also im leaning towards the name delta lamba lamba, (i havent found any other frats called that yet and it provides for a mad logo)

any help you can give me would be apreciated, and im pretty new to the idea so if you could explain the whole concept aswell (as ive probaly missed on a few key points in understanding frats) it would be greatly apreciated...

First off, Lambda is spelled with a D in it. Don't just pick letters at random, they should have some deeper meaning.

It's fraternity not frat.

There are many threads on here about starting a new group, but make sure your school would be open to such an organization.

Given that they call the university the "uni" in Australia, I don't think "frat" is going to carry the negative connotation there that it does for some people here.

I'm also guessing that any GLO in Australia might have to exist without recognition by the uni.

ETA: Delta^^, you might want to do a search for words like "start" and "fraternity" in thread titles.

Please do some extensive research first before moving forward and thoroughly research the names of existing greek letter organizations; not just the fraternities.

And please don't just steal the entire identity of some already-existing U.S. organization.

Fraternities in Australia

According to my understanding, there is a chapter of Alpha Phi Omega in Australia, but I'm still trying to track down where. This is an offshoot of an Alpha Phi Omega of the Philippines alumni association, but is accepted by both Alpha Phi Omega -USA and Alpha Phi Omega - Philippines.
