Is this REAL? Or is this a bad dream?

While at work today, my assistant told me that she saw military, I guess army tanks being escorted down one of our main boulevards today.
The ones like these: (MINUS THE SMILIE, OF COURSE)

She said she just had to stop in the middle of the street (briefly) because she couldn't believe what she was seeing.

Then, another colleague says that the trains are passing continuously and that normally means "it's not good", the situation that is.

Sunday, I awoke to jets from the nearby Air Station "performing".

Surplus stores were showing how they were selling "masks" and all and the variety of colors they came in.

I guess some don't want to discuss this, but I'm sorry...Right now, I can't believe some of this. I never imagined that I would ever see us in a major "crisis" like this.

Is THIS real? Say it ain't so, you all..say it ain't so!

Have you all seen "signs" in your area that "we" are getting prepared for something?

No... I haven't seen anything. But our news reported that a company that manufacturers masks (i.e gas masks) are getting a huge amount of business due to the rescue attempts....

Then they said that they were looking into a deal to get gas masks for every citizen!!!

It's a very nasty reality right now, especially for those that have small children. But, it's looking like war may be imminent.

i was in nyc earlier today and saw similar military vehicles on 5th avenue, not to mention at least 6 police officers on every corner. given the incidents on 9.11.01, i think it will be that way for a while. so, apparently it's not just happening in la, but nyc also.

Well, did anyone see Condoleeza last night, previewing Dubya's speech today? It was interesting. I can't wait to see what he says. I just need to know what time the speech is. Does anyone know? What he says just might explain what you've been seeing. At least I hope so. I'll be glad when this is all over, and it hasn't even really started yet. *sigh*

Okay, tanks in NYC doesn't surprise me (is the city/state still under a state of emergency?), but if I saw those in Louisiana, it'd scare me silly. Heck, I didn't see them, and it scares me now.

Here in Chicago, we had a few fighter planes escort an commercial flight because it would not respond to the tower (Come to find out it was a technical problem. Better safe than sorry). Also the sale of parachutes have skyrocketed for downtown skyscrapers and high rises even though the companies said they wil not sell to anyone that doesn't know how to use them ( Yeah, right) Bush is supposed to speak at 9pm e.s.t.

A few days ago, I saw numerous Hummers and about two tanks rolling down the street as if they were part of normal traffic. But one of the hijacked planes crashed outside of my city, so it didn't really suprise me. If I am not mistaken, there has also been a few military jets and helicopters as well.

There haven't been too many signs here in T exas, but my brother's in the army reserves and he said alot of his friends have been put on call......
When this war does begin, the only thing to be done is pray.

Our area has added more cable channels, one of which is NY1, which features 24 hour coverage on NY news. There are also several weather channels and enhanced news channels. What is really going on?
