Why was the discussion "are greeks like gangs" closed?

I actually thought that was an interesting topic. Before I went to college, I thought the same thing, that greeks were like gangs. The reasons why were because:
There is a hand shake.
There are specific colors.
There is a shield.
Dues are paid.
Meetings are held.
You were initiated in by the older members of the organization, and if you pledged, you did things you didn't want to do to become a member (just like gang bangers shoot, rob, or beat up people to get in a gang).
You will take up for your brother or sister if an outsider is threatening them (just like when greeks stroll and someone tries to cut through the line, that person is dealt with - sometimes with violence).
Greeks are in their organizations to make a difference, to help the community and others in need (gang members feel they are protecting their hood).
SO, WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE?

Well, everyone else seems to disagree.

If you're in a GLO, you should know there is a difference. No discussion needed.

Her recent posts have been kinda suspect, so...yeah. I see this thread getting locked pretty soon, too.
