Hello ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Inc. I am just a sisterfriend, and I believe I've introduced myself before on another thread when I first joined greekchat, but if not hello =) I had to post this as soon as I heard this. Well my friend goes to a relatively large university in Texas and she has expressed her interest in wanting to be in a sorority. So, I listen to her and it's a good conversation but now the things she says recently makes me question her intentions, but I don't say anything. Well, tonight, I told her some information about Alpha Kappa Alpha, as in she needs to be reading through the national website, and knowing the history, keeping up her grades, community service etc, information she could have easily figured out on her own, but I still tried to help her out. She busts out " I want pearls lol"
(we're texting, hence the lol) I said ummmmmm thats HORRIBLE if thats your main reason of wanting to be in Alpha Kappa Alpha. She had a delayed text, but then she responds, "Noooo I mean period. Not AKA." I was bafffffled. I know she knew I was upset by this, that's why it took her so long to respond, but I didn't write her back. I just don't know what to say to that. When she first expressed her interest towards me, I was like well great. I thought she had maybe seen members of Alpha Kappa Alpha around campus and that's what first sparked her interest and just didn't know how to go about it. But now she has turned into, "I'ma start my own sorority if they dont wan't me", "I wanna jacket" type of person. I don't know how to react towards her because she is, well was one of my best friends, and I say "was" for other reasons than this. I guess I just needed to vent. Sorry. =)
