Candy Theme

So this year for formal recruitment I'm using a Candy theme. It's called 'I want AOII' and I'm really excited about it. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for what I can use for table decorations. I was thinking of filling small jars with different kinds of candy, but I'm not really sure.

AEPhi at my school does a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory theme for skit round. They tape little individual fun-size pieces of candy to the walls in different patterns. It looks really cool.

Several years ago, someone described their 'CandyLand' recruitment party. I've tried to search for it but can't find it--anyway, you might be able to and it sounded fabulous!

AH! this is such a cute theme, the Theta's at my school did it this year. Things they did:
-Large "candy" made out of balloons/styrofoam pieces, colored cellophane, and ribbon.
-Pink and lime green balloons everywhere.
-White tablecloths, white chairs with huge pink ribbons tied around them.
-On the tables, there were enormous vases and bowls of various types of candy, and more candy sprinkled all over the tables.
-They served these amazing cupcakes for their treat with some sort of pink fizzy drink.
Hope this helped somewhat!

You may be able to contact Mars Co - look on the back of a candy package - and have M n M's printed with AOPi on them. Some corporations and businesses do this type of stuff as give-a-ways for their customers. I am sure it is not cheap but oh, so awesome!

I want to state upfront that if any PNM does a Recruitment Thread and is going to use aliases, they MUST be different candies!

And I love the theme!

That's the cutest idea and definitely memorable during recruitment!

Make sure and make some fake striped, red and white "starburst" mints! I think this could be really cute. Good luck!

If you go to mymms.com you can personalize M&M's. I think it's kind of pricey though.
This thread is making me want candy!

i ordered some turquoise and grey m & m's with ZTA printed on them when my daughter was getting a little sister. i ordered enough that she was able to use them for each of her crown little sisters(temporary littles) and her official little sister. they were the hit of the chapter!

do splurge-if you can budget for it- and get red ones with AOPI printed on them.

Ohh, this could be adorable! I don't know if you sing during recruitment, but you could always do "How sweet it is to be..." with words written over for your chapter.

I love the M&M idea. but I worry it would be lost on girls during recruitment-- of course it could be the hit of the parties though since I know I would definitely remember something that cool. It sounds like a great idea for new members at a bid event or for little sisters too.

As a cost saving measure, bag the m&m's in tiny cellophane bags and use them as centerpieces, THEN give them out as part of their bid day gifts...

I definitely love the M&M idea..it would be memorable IMHO.

I also think it would look charming if you had big oversized sprinkles(not real ones of course, just strips of poster board) "sprinkled" on the sidewalk, or if you have bushes outside your house you could put them on top of those.

Also, maybe hanging lollipops from the ceiling with curly colorful ribbons in different lengths...i saw that done with snowflakes in high school and it looked amazing!!

good luck!
