The decades old civli war in Mexico
is finally spilling over into U.S. soil.
Texas and Arizona or maybe it was California have asked if they can send the National Guard.
That's stupid. If I were a border state governor, the NG would already be there. Since when do governors need aproval from anyone to send in the national guard anywhere? I mean, I know guard numbers have to be down because a lot of them are being called to active duty, but seriously, this is ridiculous. Obviously the national guard should be at the border.
for what it's worth, i think both sides have commited unforgiveable atriocitices against human civiliziation, but I guess the rebels are slightly less unhuman at this point.
maybe, maybe not.
thank f**k i don't live in mexico

We should have taken over Mexico a long time ago. We took a lot of shit from them, so why not take over the whole country. It's too late now.

1. It's been spilling into the the U.S. for quite some time now, before you and I where even born. It just took Anderson Cooper and CNN to report live from the border for you to realize it.
2. It's AZ and TX, not sure about NM or CA.
3. The governors are requesting the Guard be funded by Washington, hence the asking part. Also in the past administration laws where passed that changed how the states could activate their troops, so that could be an issue as well.

Oh whatever. I don't watch Anderson Cooper. I watch NBC at night, CBS early morning during workouts, and sometimes Lou Dobbs, because even though I don't always agree with him, I respect that he formulates his own opinions.
And I actually learned about the civil from high school immigrant friends.
I started this thread because recently it's in the news.
I oppose Obama's move to support such a corrupt government.
These people only sell drugs because that's what people want to buy. If they could defend themselves by selling soap and backscratcers to tourists they would.
Yeah I remember Bush Admin changing something about the national guard because didn't some governor threaten to call up some units to prevent them from being sent to Iraq.
Hey...nevermind, I just googeled it

Wait wait wait.
Obama's teleprompter told him to support the corrupt Mexican government?
Figures. He probably still wants a good blow hookup.

Technically, the problems with the drug cartel and the "civil war" (if you could call it that) in Mexico are two different things. The wars between the drug cartel are happening mainly in the Northern States (Sonora, Durango, Chihuahua, Nuevo Leon, Baja California) and that has spilt over in certain areas.
The "civil war" has been happening in Chiapas, Oaxaca, and other states and don't really have anything to do with drugs, but with the government. The "civil war" has not spilt over into U.S. territory and has been pretty much contained within those specific states.

It's too late for it now. When I said Mexico, I'm talking about when we took territory that once was theirs. We should have just taken the whole thing during that time period.

wtf? I never said I wanted to take the law in my own hands. I said there are some things that are really fucked that I don't agree with. Kevin, RC, and ksigkid already cleared some of those things up.
