Question Homecoming and what to wear

Hi all! Ok, so i am going to my boyfriend's homecoming this weekend in "middle-of-no-where-pennsylvania" . Normally, I wouldn't care really what wore, however, his exgirlfriend (who annoys the heck out of me and will make it a point to find him) is also going to be there. So what do i wear????
I went to a southern school and we always dressed up, but apparently not here. And he is like no help at all!!!!

Maggie,
I'm in Bethlehem PA and here a girl can't go wrong with a little black dress.. Good luck and have a great time! Our homecoming is this weekend as well.

At my school in "middle-of-nowhere-PA"

Homecoming was a lot of things...what kinds of things is he taking you too? ie.party, alumni dinner, dance, etc...each require something different.

Basically friday night we are going to a TKE house party, then maybe the bar. Saturday we are going tailgating and to the game.

I take it since it's in the middle of nowhere this is a state system school. I would say black party pants for Friday night and jeans on Saturday. Definitely DO NOT wear a dress! Unless there's a formal cocktail party Saturday night, and most fraternities don't hold those up here. If you're not sure, throw a black dress & heels in the car but I seriously doubt you will need them. I know at Clarion homecoming pretty much consists of going from house to house and drinking heavily so you really don't want to be dressed up.

Of course, if this is at a non-State system school, like Lafayette or Bucknell, don't listen to a damn thing I have just said. That will require someone else's advice.

It's a state school we are going to. Thanks for the advice about not wearing a dress. At elon we totally were expected to be in badge attire all weekend long! Up here, not so much!
I think dark jeans and boots are a must!

I would agree with everyone else...black pants on Friday with cute top, and jeans and a nice sweater on Saturday. No need for dress unless you are going to a for cocktails (as said before) or to a dance or formal dinner. I know the fraternity we did homecoming with had a dinner at the house for all their Alumni and we were invited. We wore black cocktail dresses to dinner. Have a GREAT time!

Our tailgate is held in a large muddy field outside of the stadium with tents representing each fraternity and sorority. The alumni wore pants or long skirts and dressed very nice! The actives and pledges had to wear their pins and dress nice - the guys.... sweatshirts and jeans. So- you really can't go wrong either way- you'll have all types of outfits. Do bring a nice jacket/coat- and nice jewelry (ex-girlfriends always scoop out every detail and she will wonder what he gave you...he he he)!!

alright, so we have established that i shouldn't wear a dress and that someone is impotent! we've all had a full day!
This is what i decided to wear: friday night, either khaki cords or black party pants with a light pink fitted button down and my nice tiffany's jewlery my boyfriend bought me for my birthday and add my fake kate spade bag and then i think i am set. i will be hanging out with an AOTT up there that i know and she promised to take me out with her sisters so that i won't be left will all the boys all day long!
Then on friday at the game, she said it was cool to wear jeans bc we would be standing in a muddy field and everyone wears jeans and nice wool sweaters, so i am def. set in that aspect bc of abercrombie's wonderful fall sale!!! (if you haven't went, you should go!!!!). And then sat. night we will just be bar hopping so i was planning on wearing my dark dressy jeans and a jcrew vneck city tee.
What do you all think!
Things are so different up here!
