Hollywood Week 2009!
Hello ladies!!
I am the new Recruitment Director for my sorority. We are not Panhellenic and we do things a tad differently than others. Having said that I would like to see us have a little bit more structure. I just wondered if ya'll could offer some ideas for a Hollywood theme for the spring as well as just clue me in to what the other sororities typically do for their recruitment week. I would really appreciate it!

We're not Panhellenic either, as we're a local. Do you participate in Rush with the other sororities, or do you have your own, individual Rush week? In our sorority we have six nights of different events - two of them are Meet and Greets with wine and cheese, two are frat parties, and two are randomly themed events. Does your Rush look anything like this?

I did a search for themes, and found these. There may be something about a Hollywood theme in one of them:

Our sorority has several chapters spread throughout the US. We have started a new things where we have 2 info nights one week and then the following week we have rush week. I just joined this fall and how they did it was have a little even each night. They didn't seem to have a rush week structure but i really want to establish one. Our sorority is based on 3 C's: Church, Community, and Chapter. I want at least 3 of the rush week nights to stand for each of these.

How long does your recruitment typically last?

Maybe have the party based around the story of a movie that corresponds to each one? Like for Church, have it be The Preacher's Wife (I know that's not the best but I'm too slow right now to think of a better one, LOL).

Hey! I'm the recruitment director for pbx at unc chapel hill!
What I'm doing for each night during recruitment week is centering each event around a different genre ... so we have a Mystery/Thriller night, Romantic Films night, Western night, comedy night, etc.
Good luck with recruitment!!
