Woman denies candy to Obama supporters' kids

A couple of days old, but it blew my mind.

http://www.freep.com/article/2008110...029/1001/rss01

Quote:
A Grosse Pointe Farms woman has doled out political tricks by refusing Halloween treats to children whose parents support Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.

Shirley Nagel passed out candy Friday — but only to those who shared her support for Republican presidential candidate John McCain and running mate Sarah Palin.

Fox 2 News says a sign posted outside Nagel's house, about 12 miles west of Detroit, served notice to all trick-or-treaters. It read: "No handouts for Obama supporters, liars, tricksters or kids of supporters."

Nagel tells WJBK-TV that "Obama's scary." When asked about children who'd been turned away empty-handed and crying, she said: "Oh well. Everybody has a choice."

Fax and phone messages were left today at numbers listed in Nagel's name.

This woman is a nut case. I don't care who she sided with, no kid should be punished. From the interview I saw, kids started crying and had no idea why they were denied candy.

This is hate in the truest sense.

Wow, that's a whole new level of bitter. Yes, let's take it out on the children, who have absolutely nothing to do with their parents' voting. That's logical.

Well, my cousin's first name is very similar to hers. When I first read it, I thought it said HER name and I was like "But they don't live in Grosse Pointe". Then I realized, it's her MIL. Her son is such a nice guy!

I'm not talking to her at the next family thing she's at!

HAHAHA that's awesome. Hopefully she was teaching them what Democrats really believe and taking away the candy they would have gotten to give it to the kids too lazy to go trick-or-treating for themselves. After all, it's wonderful that you are being successful in trick-or-treating, but we need to give the opportunity to eat candy to those behind you as well, I think, uh, it's better for all of us if we spread the candy around.

Can I just ask why anyone who saw that sign posted would approach her door no matter who you supported politically?

It's almost like just posting a sign that says "hey, I'm a crazy political crank. Stop by if you want to hear about black helicopters."

Why would you ring that bell?

They did a follow-up piece on the woman across the street who consoled the kids who came to her house next and insisted that not all adults are as stupid as the other lady (lol, no offense to your fam AGDee) :http://www.freep.com/article/2008110...035/1001/rss01

This was my favorite part of that article:
Quote:
Fleury said most of the rejected children didn’t appear upset. Rather, many walked away chanting Obama’s name, she said.
Kids are so resilient...and oppositional.
