I am sorry for imposing on the Phi Mu turf but this is long over due! I was sharing this story with some younger girls today about the benefits of Sorority life and as it deals with your Sisterhood I wanted to share it with you!
A few years ago when I was still a collegiate member of my Sorority and active on Panhel, the local Alumnae Panhellenic Council had extended an invite to the older girls for a kind of Meet and Greet thing so we could learn more about the organization etc.. Most of the girls in my chapter weren't able to attend, but myself and one of the girls from my New Member Class thought it would be a really neat thing and so we went. Well... we were like the only Alpha Xi Girls there, and our Fraternity was still relatively new to the area (since 1996) so we didn't have any Alumnae who were involved in the group to sit with at that time (that's since changed!

)
Anyway, my Sister and I decided upon a table to sit at, and it happened to be a table full of Phi Mu's! They were the sweetest bunch of women I have ever met, and it was really neat for me because there used to be a chapter on my campus prior to my chapter being here and it was Phi Mu who started our Greek Sing over 50 years ago! We talked, we shared, we bonded and by the end of the night I felt as if I was sitting at a table of my own sisters!!! When the night came to a close and everyone was tearing down their displays, one of the Phi Mu's came over to my Sister and I and presented us each with a pink carnation as a token of friendship!!! It was the sweetest thing ever because I know how much my pink rose means to me and to this day I always smile when I see your flower!
So, in closing I just want to thank you for your Sisterhood and to let you know that though an Alpha Xi, there will always be a place for Phi Mu in my heart!
