mom dot or big sis little sis
Do you guys call you "big" a big sis/little sis or do you call it mom/dot? In my chapter we have always called it mom/dot. I wonder what headquarters calls it?

At LSU, we call it Big Sis/Lil Sis. I wonder if we use those names because all other sororities on campus use them?

At University of Illinois we call it Pledge Mom/Pledge Kid. We also have Pledge Dads of PM's choice.

At Beta Gamma we have Big/Lil sis, and then each family has a mascot (i.e., the ducks, the dogs, the bears, etc.).

Thats different that you have mascots for each family. We did have a sister a couple of years ago who took the time to make family trees. Our chapter was founded in 1970 so it was somewhat of a big chore to do. But on founders day she posted them so everyone could see.

We called them bigs and littles - your bigs big would be your grandbig, etc. If your big had two littles you were twin stars. My chapter was only a few years old when I was initiated, so this wasn't such a chore, but pretty much everyone knew their family tree. I guess if you keep track of your family from the beginnng, it makes it easier later!

I'm a Beta Theta at the U of Idaho and we call them Bigs and Littles. . and your big sis's big would be called your Big Big and you would be the Lil' Lil' . And if one Big has two littles then they are Twins.
I like the idea of calling them Twin Stars!

We call ours Bigs/Littles in the Zeta Upsilon chapter. And we also use the "twin stars" thing. (I've got one! ) But the other sorority out here (Alpha Gam) calls them Sis-Moms and Sis-Dots.

Alpha Iota did pledge moms/pledge babies... it was cheesy in a very cute way, lots of baby bottles full of candy and cute stuff.
Man I miss those days, nothing approaches the spoiling you get for pledge mom week.

We call it bigs and littles (and grand-bigs, great-grand-bigs, grand-littles, great-grand-littles, etc). There are some convoluted families that have aunts (your big's twin) and cousins (your big's twin's little) and stuff, but people don't get too involved in figuring it all out!
We also have "guardian angels." You get a guardian angel on bid day that helps you get involved in the house before you get your big sis. The new member is the guardian angel's "little devil."
Also, during the new member period, you get a "star sister" who makes a cut-out of the twin stars and leaves an inspirational quote each week. Last year we had "kite cousins" instead of "star sisters," but my pledge class ended up with three kites at the end of the new member period, and that was a little intense, so we switched to twin stars

That sounds so cool!!! That sounds like an awesome way to spice up if you will the new member program and keep it exciting throughout!
We just have Pansy Pals which acts as a mentor for a new member till she gets her big sis, which I think is the same concept as your guardian angel/lil devils idea

We had mom/dots at my chapter and like ThetaGrrl's chapter, each family has a name. There's the bear family, the duck family, the daisy family, the panda family and on and on. It all started because a member transferred to our school from another school and brought that tradition with her.
Our chapter has Twin Stars. New members get two Twin Stars on Bid Day. I always thought it was great to have two people help each new member get acclimated to the chapter (and sometimes school).
