Smile Holiday present ideas... for the significant other

I'm at a complete loss of what to get my boyfriend. Black Friday was a strike and a miss. I had no luck on Cyber Monday.

What are you getting your SO for the holiday?

What's your price range?

If money were no object, what would you buy them?

HELP!

My husband and I gave each other a cruise, so no worries this year about presents!
Is there something you can give your boyfriend that he could use everyday - and think of you? www.levengers.com has beautiful, unique items if he is a student/businessman. www.duluthtrading.com has very practical gifts if he is handy or works with his hands. They are two of my favorite companies for gifts for guys.

well....

We were out on Saturday adn she saw a DVD concert set that she liked...she didn't make too much of a big deal about it but I made a mental note to order it from Amazon.

A Few suggestions...

- If he is a gadget junkie and doesn't already have one, a GPS system

- An Ipod

- tix to a sporting event

- a colgne set is kind of ok, just make sure it's not some cheap stuff

- a really nice watch

- a leather coat

And of course, this all depends on how long you two have been together...if he is worth the investment, then look into one of above suggestions, or if you still don't know, as per another thread, it doesn't hurt if both of you sit down and exchange lists about what you would like to get for Christmas, and keep in mind that you may recieve one, some or none of what's on the list.

Bottom line is....regardless of what is given, it's the thought that counts.

P.S. on a sidenote, people, whatever you do....never get your s/o shoes.

2 reasons....call me superstitious, but there's that myth about if you buy shoes for someone, they will walk out of your life.....hehehe

But more practically speaking, IF THERE IS NOTHING ELSE that people are more picky about, it's shoes and shoes have to not only look nice, but they have to fit and feel perfect.

If for some God - forsaker reason you ever find yourself thinking about getting some shoes, it may be wiser to either just give a gift card to purchase shoes.

This is what husband is getting for Christmas. He likes to ride when it's cold, and the half helmet makes for a chilly blast in your face.

Probably not much help to you, but eh - you asked.

No clue, either. I actually just PMed NinjaPoodle for suggestions on brands and features to look for. I don't think I'm going to go as far as custom. My dad's looked a little (he rides), and he said for the full one, you're looking at between $70-$400+.

When my husband was on a work trip, I stood in line to get tickets for Spamalot. (He LOVES Monty Python). So he's getting those, plus something from VS and some small things. Usually, we just go on a trip and call it done.

We're sticking to low budget this year, so I'm looking at getting him a watch, a nice sweatshirt, a DVD, and a few of the weird wines he likes. Probably also an insane amount of chewing gum for stocking stuffers, as he is completely addicted.

I totally saw those silver collar stays in the catalog and almost ordered them! I'd already gotten him a couple things, though (nice fleece vest and a rangefinder for his hunting trips)... so that will have to wait until his birthday, or maybe Valentine's day.

I'm still up in the air since his brother purchased a copy of Assassin's Creed which was the "OMG have to have" present this year. Now he doesn't need his own copy

So I'm still looking.

PS3

I bought my husband an 80GB PS3 earlier this week. He wanted it since last year, but I got him the Wii instead until it went down. I hope he enjoys it.

TV show season DVD sets are an idea. COSTCO/Sams/BJ's have a variety at usually good prices.

That's the way I'm going. That, and a few things from an Irish website. (I keep adding to a special set of beer mugs he loves.)

I got my husband a nice watch, pampered chef items, the for men face care set from the body shop, and the new Rubix Cube Revolution. He's getting a few other small items too but i forgot what they were. My husband is really hard to buy for and I hate giving him gift cards.

If money was no object (and I had it) I'd buy him the $17,000 Rolex he looked at and tried on at the Rolex store in Maui.
