85 years ago on November 12, 1922, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. was organized on the campus of Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana by 7 school teachers. These 7 friends envisioned a sorority dedicated to educating the youth and uplifting the African American community through "Greater Service, Greater Progress."
Sigma Gamma Rho is the youngest and smallest sorority in the NPHC with 90,000+ members since her inception and chapters currently in the U.S., Bermuda, Bahamas, Virgin Islands, Germany, and Korea.
Happy Founder's Day!
