Any Wizard of OZ fanatics out there?

Hey all! So I have to admit that I'm not the biggest fanatic of the WofOz, not that I don't like the movie or anything but I just haven't studied the DEEPER MEANING of the OZ.

So help a sister out on this one and educate me on something...

I saw a sign that said "Nobody gets in to see the wizard. NOT NO BODY NOT NO HOW"

So I get the surface meaning from the movie, but what is the deeper meaning? Why would someone want to hang this sign in their home? (Not that I'm knocking it, if you have one. I like the sign but want to know the deeper meaning... if there is one?)

Thanks!

Maybe because he was "just a man"...he didn't want magic used and didn't want to be seen by human or animal.

If someone came in (as Dorothy & Co. did), they would find out his secret.

BTW, have you read the Wicked books? LOVED THEM!!

It does explain some stuff..of course you could also read the original Oz books.

I got that meaning... I was just trying to understand why someone would want a sign with that saying. I was thinking that maybe I don't understand something that someone who is a BIG OZ fan might know?

Thanks Lynn, I haven't read those books. Maybe one day I will!

I don't think there's much of a deeper meaning behind his books. He really wrote them for kids and kept writing them because kids kept asking for more stories. It's also just a funny quote from the movie because of how it is said
