Is anyone else watching this show? Thoughts?

I'll have to give it some time. I think that a show like this might work better on cable, though, since you can do more.
I *HAVE* to say that Grant Show looks icky in this.

I thought the casting of the "old neighbor/best friend" was perfect. She looked so prim and June Cleaver-ish and I totally cracked up at her Tupperware. I owned that orange and avacado colored Tupperware back in the '70's.
Didn't the lead actress (long red hair) look too young to have a teenager that old? The men's silky shirts are hilarious. I remember buying my dad one for Father's Day. ugh.
Love the music and set design.

well her daughter made the comment of "i know you were my age when dad knocked you up" so that would have made her a teen mother, and in her early/mid 30s now.

Ditto for me, but I think Grant Show (out of the "icky" makeup, of course) is still hot after all these years, post- Melrose.
I liked the Bicentennial celebration aspect of the pilot as well, namely since that's the year I was born. And, the music was pretty groovy, too!

Yes she does... but she was in Shortbus too, so my view of her is tainted. She must like to do projects about sex.
Ok, since you mentioned the casting. There is something that TOTALLY bothered me. ok, the old neighbor/best friend's son, and the red head's son was TOTALLY mixed. The red head's son looked WAY too much like "old neighbor/best friend" They have the exact same weird face, so I kept getting confused thinking that he belonged to old neighbor and the other belonged to red head.
The show seemed to be a little tame on the premier. The only thing fun was win janet went into the sex basement, but they could of totally done more. oh and Lana Parrilla was SOOOOO hot with that 70's hair and dress, but Grant Show looked like he wanted to sit in his underwear and watch tv while eating brautwaurst. Totally weird.
Oh, and the red head was all prude and suddenly it was slutty drug gang bang sex time... it seemed a stretch

I'm going to stick with it for a few more episodes, at least, but I am sort of with you at the moment.
I was expecting more "pop!"

Same here. I'll stick with it for a while. I think that the reason you may expect more is because I know for me in the back of my mind I kept comparing it to 'Boogie Nights' - where nothing was held back.
The music was cool too. Only, I don't see how long the show can really last since it seems to be based on the premise of the 'swinging 70's'. I think this show will really need to be developed well over time for viewers to stick with it.

Ah yes, I had forgotten about the mom being a teen bride. I'll watch it if nothing else is on but it's not addicting yet.

When someone told me about this show I thought they were joking. It is pretty funny though, especially the fund raiser for the guy from "Deep Throat" and his stage name.

I watched the entire season of Swingtown & I'm really hoping there will be a second season! I heard that CBS may be cancelling the show?
