Question The Boondocks Cartoon

Hello, ladies. Since the recent launch of Aaron McGruder's cartoon on the Cartoon Network, I find myself in a situation. Although I used to read The Boondocks comic strip and find it funny at times, I can't say the exact same about the cartoon. I'm used to McGruder making social commentary on subjects like black youth, hip hop culture, George W. and the like but for some reason, I feel like the cartoon takes away from this commentary with its use of the n-word. I know that the use of the word itself is controversial but since it is used so freely in the show, I'm left wondering if this is McGruder's attempt at MORE social commentary to show blacks how some of them sound or if it is just used for fun (like it was during the Chapelle Show). Either way, I think that blacks are left with the dilemma of other races using the word in jest but I'm wondering if the show will force blacks to realize the severity of the word's consequences, perhaps. What do you all think?
