Burger King makes grand appearance

(this guy has become a new FSU legend):

Oct. 29, 6:36 p.m.: A Florida State University Police Department officer was working at an FSU football game. Suddenly, a person dressed as the "Burger King Man" was observed running across the football field from the south end to the north end zone. The male had no reason to be on the field, as he is not a player or official and has no affiliation with athletics.

The "Burger King Man" ran across the field almost to the north end zone when he saw some deputies blocking his exit. The male ran to the wall, where he jumped up and tried to exit the field. The officer got down to the wall, grabbed the "Burger King Man's" arms and assisted him over it.

The male told the officer he jumped over the wall at the south end zone and started running to the north end zone. He said the reason he did it was because he'd seen five commercials that day with the Burger King catching a ball on a football field and felt compelled to do the same.

The "Burger King Man" was placed under arrest for trespassing on school grounds. He was secured in double-locked handcuffs behind his back and escorted out of the stadium.

The male is a current FSU student.

Is anyone else totally creeped out by the Burger King Man? I just don't think that's what BK had in mind when creating a new advertising mascot.

He has this stalker-ish, psycho looking smile and that creeps me out.

I think he's so awesome. It's great marketing if you ask me...everyone has an opinion on him.

I'm with everyone who says they hate that heinous Burger King Man-thingy. Ugh! Mascots creep me out anyway, but that thing looks downright evil.

I agree with shovel lady (aries).

Dude though, what a funny excuse to do that. "And - you just had that outfit lying around?"

As far as burger joint mascots go, I liked the old women in the Wendys ads in the 80's. "Where's the beef".

The Burger King man needs to go away. And fast.

Nice to know I'm not the only one who finds him creepy!!!

You can get the whopper without the burger. I used to get it a lot in high school. They charge you less for it and it's actually fairly good although it sounds kind of strange. Not exactly a veggie whopper, but it's good!

I do that with the big mac sometimes. In Fiji, they actually called that the McSalad Burger. But with the whopper what sauce is there? Isn't it just mayo?

Yeah, I think it's just mayo and ketchup. I don't think they put mustard on the whoppers, do they? I think the Big Mac sauce is bascially just mayo, ketchup, and relish.

Now I'm craving BK!!! And it's lunch time. Better go eat something before I go get myself a whopper....
