Amnesty When Helping in Alcohol / Drug Emergencies (Emory)

Emory has instituted an amnesty program for students and student organizations, including Greeks, in cases where people seek help for students with alcohol or drug emergencies.

The Sept. 6, 2005 issue of the student paper has the story:

I know the idea of amnesty has been mentioned several times here on GC. The concept at Emory seems to be to avoid punishing students and organizations that try to get help for people who need it.

Of course, it's too early to know how it's working, but maybe we'll hear more as the academic year progresses.
