dream wedding

I thought it would be fun to start a thread where we can talk about what you would do (or would have done for those married) given that there is no limit on how much you can/could spend!!

First thing I'd do is get my dream engagement ring (I have no shame )

And let me tell you, this is probably between a 50,000-75,000 dollar engagement ring. I tried on one like this...

and it was like a 32,000 dollar ring. Hey at least I can say "I tried a Tiffany's ring on"

Then I'd make sure to get my dream dress...

My daddy already said no to this dress because it's $5000. Although it is from their Spring 2001 collection, I personally believe it is still so much because of the beeding, which is probably hand done.

I would then have these on every table...

And that's all I can really think of right now!!!

Have fun and go wild!!!!

Remember money is no object!!!

This is what Mr.BBelleADPi gave me for our 20th Anniversary and my 50th birthday (they're two days apart)! I wear it on my right hand, and yes, mam, it does look good!! He has great taste, and I was totally surprised. I told him that if I had gone with him, this is exactly what I would have picked out!!

Oh-but it was NOT from Tiffany's, needless to say!

That is simply gorgeous!!!! Is it one of those "Yesterday, Today, and Forever" rings?

My engagement ring from you-know-who has a center diamond, with seven diamond shapes carved into the white gold and a diamond in each (for ADPi, although where he got the seven, I'm not sure). Sort of like <*><*><*> if that makes sense. The diamonds were in his great-grandmother's wedding ring.

BTW, he told me last night that he is not willing to call it quits. No stress there, huh?

I'll try to put together some of what I was planning in a little...

This woulda been an ideal ring, except in yellow gold

We would have still been married in Vegas, but I would have done the Bellagio or Mandalay Bay chapels

I am sure I can think of more stuff....

I loved my wedding... The only thing I probably would have changed would have been the amount of time it was planned in... Unfortunately with graduating, moving and finding a new job it was a pretty quick time of planning things... But for those interested I will post some pics...

The coloring in this pic is a bit off... But this is my engagement ring and my wedding ring... We found my enagement ring when a jewelry store near us was going out of business... It was from an estate collection they had and guessed to be from the 1920s... I fell in love with it right away... The engravings on it look like stars (I am an astronomer), so it was perfect... Then we went to find a simple wedding band to go with it and just stumbled across this one... I really do love it...

Other then that, my wedding took place at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco...

The ceremony took place in the Pavillion Room (it was supposed to be in the Rooftop Garden, but it was too cold the wonders of SF in the summer)...

Then the reception took place up in the Penthouse...

For flowers we used roses that were off white... they were for my boquet, the single flowers my bridesmaids carried, the baskets the flower girls carried and as center pieces on the tables...

My dress I fell in love with... We have known a women who owns a bridal shop for many years, so we went there... You can kind of see my dress in the group shot here (most of the images I have are very very large)... Also it shows my bridesmaids in black which is one thing I really really wanted...

And the best part is that I now have a wonderful husband... And we just had our 1 year wedding anniversary on Saturday... And I mean had and not celebrated... We moved on that day, so we are waiting to actually celebrate for a few more weeks once we are settled...

I know I have posted this before, but if people want to see more pictures they can be found on our wedding site http://www.astrosquirrelbait.net/wedding

Ok I'm going to a wedding this weekend so it makes me think of what mine will be like (one day!)

I like this dress, or something similar

Love these bridesmaids dresses

I love this set, so unusual, but nice looking

Anyway, something deep pink for the flowers.......and a tall dark and handsome groom. That's about it!

I know that I want a VERY untraditional wedding. I want everyone there to be laughing the entire time. The only thing I have planned out so far is that I'm going to play the Guns N Roses song 'Patience; as everyone walks in, and at the end of the ceremony as my man and I are walking out, we're going to play Highway To Hell. And yes, I am serious!

I would've had more pictures taken (but somehow worked it in so that the guests wouldn't have to wait a long time for us to arrive to the reception)...

I would've worn a veil. Although everything else was pretty traditional, I just couldn't decide on a veil so decided not to wear one at the time...

I would've given better gifts to our parents and the bridesmaids...

I would've hired a professional videographer...

Everything else was just great!

BTW, my bridesmaids were in periwinkle (aka "ADPi Blue") even though they weren't ADPIs.

Hey there I am with a baby in the back row. nauadpi I still laugh about the expression on the faces of Kelly and Megan when they saw me with Jade in my arms.

Now for my wedding

Ok these are the two dresses I want I will hopefully try them on next weekend on my birthday cuz it is tradition for me to go wedding dress shopping for my birthday, yet no one is getting married this year.

This one has a detachable royal length train. My friend Sara is glad that we will not have to bustle it.

I saw this in red and loved it and I am super happy I can get it in purple.

Shoe wise I AM GOING BAREFOOT or will be in flip flops. If you cant tell I am barefoot why bother with shoes.

My wedding colors will probably be a deep purple and Home Depot orange. I don't know how well that will work with a red trimed dress but I don't care it is my wedding. I love Home Depot and it is not just for Tony Stewart, I have ALWAYS loved going to Home Depot with dad.

My wedding date will have to of course not coincide with the all important NASCAR or baseball season so November - January will be a perfect time to get married cuz with hockey or football season I can deal with missing a game.

I have not thought about what I want the attendants to wear but I am not sure I even want any (having a really hard time right now with friends)

My ring I just want white gold and a diamond or diamonds set that I cannot knock them loose. I am bad on my rings especially with working on the cars.

I want to get married in Vegas but I will have to have the catholic wedding so i will be getting secretly married in Vegas (my wedding) and in Tucson (the wedding mom can ruin). My roomate from the chapter is from Hawai'i so she wants me to get married in her backyard so we will have to work that out some how.

So far my gift registry consists of a hot dog roller (I am TOTALLY serious about this one), pressure washer, Keggerator, and the whole set of Milwalkie or Dewalt power tools.

Since we have unlimited fundage I want the Offspring, Montgomery Gentry, Trick Pony, or Nine Inch Nails to play my wedding. Hey it may happen I do have strong connections in the music biz.

Of course open bar cuz my family is Irish and Mexican.

I ultimately want my dress, my significant other, and my closest friends and select members of my family at my wedding.

I am sure I will think of more later

Carrie,
Home Depot orange? What's that about? Just kidding. LOL.

Your colors are the Phoenix Suns!!!!!!

Hey I was trying on dresses last night and I don't have a significant other. It was fun to be doted on and told how beautiful you look.

Here are the dresses I tried on last night (which are my "Brianna is not in fantasyland anymore" dresses):

Loved this dress, loved the coloring (embroidery), but it just didn't fit right in the bodice.

Beautiful dress but just did not look good on me.

My mom and I both LOVED this dress (but in ivory, I don't do white well), but in the end we had to agree that the cathedral train (non-detachable) would have been a huge pain in the bleep.

I got to try this one in ivory, which is the color I want. I liked this dress but the whole tulle thing is kind of turning me off. I had a tulle dress for convention and it was sooooo annoying.

Now if I really was engaged, this would have been the dress I would have bought. I LOVED the way it fit. I LOVED the coloring (which I know is hard to tell). But the dress I tried on was ivory with a rum pink (which looks more beige than pink to me) satin hem around the bodice and skirt. So incredibly beautiful and I looked good in it. LOL.

Carrie, I'm totally with you when it comes to flip flops. When I first started trying on gowns last night I was in heels. I about died. I finally told the consultant that I was taking the heels off and going in flip flops. She went and grabbed these white flip flops that they sell, which were so comfy. No one's going to be seeing my feet anyways. Plus, I should be able to be comfortable.

Okay, I have now recovered from my dead faint - flip flops?!?! You're going to spend over a thousand dollars on a dress and wear Dollar Store flip flops?!?!?

Why not ballet slippers? They're just as comfortable, but have a tad more style about them. And yes, people WILL see your feet more often than you realize - when you dance anything to anything fast, when your garter is taken off, etc, etc.

Oh no, I know my diamond sister... She will be in flip flops... Hopefully she will at least let me decorate them... There was a sister who did that in my chapter for formal... She really hates wearing most shoes, so she decorated flip flops... Using satin ribbon and what not... You would never have guessed they were cheep flip flops (very cute) and she was comfortable...

And diamond sister, I did love our sisters' expressions... That was priceless...

Okay, I googled wedding flip flops and found these:

Call me whatever, but I don't care if they're satin with rhinestones, they're still flip flops!! I wore 2" pumps, made sure that they were broken in, and had so much fun, I didn't care about my feet!

For me I will only be wearing shoes during the ceremony, pictures and part of the reception. As soon as the dancing begins, the shoes are going off.

I may be spending hundreds of dollars on a dress, but I'm going to chose a dress I'm comfortable in and that makes me look like a million bucks. At least I should be able to have my feet comfortable. More power to the women who can wear heels all day long. I would love to be able to do that because I love the way I look in heels but I don't have nearly strong enough legs or a good enough back.
