Question Question

As most of you know I am not a member of any greek organization. But I do have a question to ask...I am in interest of chartering a chapter, but that isn't the concern right now. My concern is if you were wanting to charter and you knew of other individuals who wanted to also but had one in particular who has wanted to be in the sorority but have there values screwed up how would you react? My situation is that this one in particular person who also happens to be a friend is seeming more and more of just wanting to be part of the organization. It's like service projects to her isn't an issue until it can account for something and make her look good to the members, whereas with me I've been raised to help others in need. My mom started me out with that from donating toys and clothing to care organizations up to a widespread of things. Many of my services are undocumented and I intended to keep them that way because I didn't do those things to be noticed, nor do I feel the fact I help someone should be in the open that they were needed that help cause it can scar someone's joy and pride. I don't feel that you should do services because you have to and want to be in an organization, but obviously this individual is seeming to want to do just that, I would like to know everyone else's views on this situation.

If this person is your friend, and from the genuine concern you are showing, I assume she is, maybe you shoule explain to her how important her service is, and how you feel about her actions (do so veryu tactfully, as to not step on any feet) Maybe she is not really seeing how her service is touching others, so you might want to try getting involved in different kinds of projects.

Nothing in the world is more precious or sincere that the smile of a child, so maybe you might want to work with some children in your area, they will truly let her know she is appreciated and that might give her the push she needs
