Fun activities to bond with pledges?

I'm sorry if I have this posted in the wrong area, but it seemed closest.

In my fraternity, we have a lot of informal events throughout the semester to get to know the pledges (movie nights, eating out, etc). I haven't organized one yet this semester and I would like to, but I don't have any ideas that haven't been done before.

This may make it a little more difficult, but I am in a co ed professional fraternity. If you can help me, that would be great!

I'm in a co-ed service fraternity, and in the past we've done projects where we've made cards for Give To The Troops or patients at a local children's hospital. People usually have fun being creative with their cards and it's easy to chat with other people while you're working. (I first met my big at a project like this!)

In a similar vein, we had a fellowship where we bought wooden letters and painted/decorated them together, although I would only recommend this one if your chapter has a high percentage of women. I don't think a single guy attended that one!

This may have been done before, but game nights can make for a great fellowship as well and they're incredibly easy to put together. Catchphrase and Apples to Apples are a couple of my favorites, but plenty of games could work well.

Can't really speak for a professional fraternity since I'm in a social fraternity, but the bonding should work similarly.

I personally find that what works best for getting to know people and building the bond tends to be fun things that last over night.

Try to see if you can plan a ski trip or something.
