Delta Academy

This is for any sorors who have worked or are currently working with the Delta Academy. I have relinquished my MAL status and joined an alumnae chapter. Well we are trying to implement the academy in our chapter and I need ideas, suggestions, etc. Please e-mail me with any of the above. I really need HELP!

First check to see if your chapter's voting or alternate delegate picked up the new Delta Academy guide at regional conference. If not, request one - our chapter, like many meet a couple of times a month and we rotate the activities from a sisterhood topic, scholarship topic, and a service issue. We start each session off with a series of math/science teasers and then go into the activity for the day. We accepted applications and referrals from the community, but many programs are school based and they adopt a class or group of girls.

Soror, a suggestion on how to present topics is to have sorors or other community members w/ special skills do a presentation in line w/ the monthly theme. We have had sorors present on such topics as web page design, starting/running a business and applying to college. Field trips included museums and plays as well as other cultural events. A great sisterhood activity would be a slumber party w/ a theme.
