"You LOOK like an Alpha! Either that, or a Kappa!"

"Is your book autobiographical?"
No, it's fiction.
"Oh, okay.....so which of your life experiences did you draw from to write the book?"
(Like that's not the same dang question reworded!)

Another pet peeve....parents who are so detached from raising their children that they don't know what days they are off from school.

Sorhors and friends,,

I always tell my students to "Develop Better Listening Skills" because I explain the directions verbally and visually, however, there's always a few students that don't pay attention to the instructions. I also don't allow my students to chew gum in the classroom so I always tell them to do the following: "To hit it and hit it hard!" (They know that it means to put your gum in the wastebasket!).

Finally, when they want to clown around during the lesson they know that I don't put up with foolishness because I always say the following: "It's not a game!" or "What do you think that it's a game?"

I'm scared a you!
My current pet peeve, though I used to like it, is when people try to get me to talk to hear my accent.

AND

My roommate is starting to get to me with her constant comment of "Ewww! What is that SMELL?" No matter what I'm cooking: lasagna, mac n cheese, stir fry, etc. So, that's my really focused pet peeve.

People who talk loudly on cell phones.
People who play with their ring tones.
People who sell loose cigarettes.
People who litter when there is a trash can close by.
People who do not give up their seats on the train/bus for the elderly. One day that might be YOU!

When people say I'm pretty "for a dark girl"....Willie Lynch *#$%^

When people call at 4am and have the audacity to say "What are you doing?" It's 4am, what do you THINK I'm doing?

When people ask something and then answer their own question yet still wait for your response. TOO many examples on that one.

When people walk by, look me DIRECTLY in the eye and don't speak. RUDE!

When people bring their loud whining babies to the movies. Uhhh could you leave Little Jim Jim at home PLEASE.

Same for, "You're pretty for a big girl." One of my actual responses: "Well, you're cute for a tall, skinny dude with big ol' eyes." Mean, but it got the point across.

Ashy skin in the fall and winter. Skin needs moisturizing year round.

ADULTS (not just kids) who first ask, "What are those things (the letters)?" then immediately demand, "Oooh, do a step!"

People doing 55 in the fast lane on I-285. Yeah, 55 is the posted speed limit, but all Atlanta residents know that 285 is Atlanta's Audobahn. Sunday driving on Friday evening should warrant a ticket.

This is a big one right now: Sorors that hesitate to attend chapter meetings and events but will hurt themselves to get to a step show or other social Greek event. I love all of my sorors, but don't ask me about events that you almost refuse to attend for silly reasons, ie the sorors that you like the most won't be there. Meetings are for business; socializing and fellowship is a perk. If you want more socializing, how about you join the "Social" committee and organize some events, ie Sigma night at Houstons, D&B, etc? (Can you tell this bothers me?)

*sips some Chai to ease my spirit*

people who let their kids go alone to see R rated movies. just drop them off at the movie theater and go.

people who drop their underage children off at the mall and leave. at the mall where i live on a Friday or Saturday night there are sooooo many youngin' there with no adult supervision.

Here are a few more. . .

People that don't cover their mouths when the do the following:

Sneeze
Cough
Yawn

Whatever happened to Basic-Home-training?

When I go to an eating establishment with someone and they want to constantly try what I ordered or they want me to taste their order. Leave me alone and let me eat my food in peace.

When I'm at the counter in my credit union, post office,or store and trying to plug in my atm/debt number and another person is standing way too close for comfort. Hey fool, I'm trying to take care of a private transaction and I don't want you in my personal business. (I'm an American and I need my space!)

When I'm in a parent-teacher-student conference and the father is trying to holla at a sista. Why would I want to date you when you can't even get your dumbass out-of-control kid to behave? Please answer that simple question for me Mr. . . .

This was too much for me last year! And the father is married and had the nerve to talk to me like that in front of his daughter.

Thumbs down Ordering a sandwich

I can't stand Subway anymore. I don't need 3-4 people touching and talking over my food asking me waht I want on it. Why can't just 1 person fix it. That is just too many different people's germs over my sandwich.
