If you recently installed any extensions, uninstall them.

I'm stretching, but is there a check by History in your toolbar (View-Sidebar-History)? If there then clear it out and close down Firefox. Maybe that will do the job?

It doesn't matter when you installed them - just uninstall them and see if the problem goes away. I had a similar problem with Firefox (Mac) and some extensions I downloaded ages ago before the latest upgrade. I uninstalled them and they all went away.

BTW - if you're using Firefox, it has built in spy sensing software, so it could be all the stuff you're using to 'protect' your computer is causing a conflict.

there was some girl in the tech lab that was having major issues with firefox today, and the techie people said she wasn't the only one. maybe there is a problem with the program itself?

Luckily, I haven't had any problems. I'm at the point where I'm using Firefox as my default browser, except for those few sites that only work in IE.

aries, is your Firefox working correctly yet?
