I have old fashioned, non-digital comcast right now, and I don't like the fact that it doesn't have the on screen menus and stuff. However, I do like the fact that my cable doesn't go out every time it rains and won't go out every time it snows. My dish went out last year when it snowed during the NCAA basketball final and I was PISSED OFF because I missed the end of the game and all that One Shining Moment crap. It went out all the time when the weather was bad.

Definately get satellite!! The picture is much clearer and you have so... many channels to choose from. As far as the price it is a little more expensive, but worth it. I have my whole house on it. I got rid of cable all together and it's been about 3 years now. Good Luck

I have cable. If I had a choice though, I wouldn't be. Stupid apartment. They don't let us have dishes on the patio.

Digital cable.
I'm thinking about switching over to a dish (and DSL instead of cable modem) because Comcast = $$$, but I'm worried about losing the satellite signal in bad weather.

I have Comcast Digital too. We had satelitte a few of years ago--it would go out with heavy rain. I like Comcast but they are pricey-- $115 a month for cable and internet.
Here is my funny little story on why we switched back to Comcast. We had cable, got a good deal on the dish, cancelled cable. Somehow we noticed we were still getting cable-- Comcast disconnected the digital portion, but not the actual service to the house. After a couple of months we cancelled the dish and used the analog cable that they never disconnected--this went on for about 2 years. About a year ago the doorbell rang, it was the cable guy, with a great deal. We could sign back up for cable and they would turn their head to the service we had been using for the past couple of years. I tried the "not my fault you didn't do your job and disconnect it" line--- but the line "sign up or we can bill you for the past two years" got me signing the dotted line real quick.

I have Comcast regular cable but only because I can't get direct tv or dish. We have too many trees and they can't get the satelites from our property unless we chop some tress down.

OK, time to VENT!!!!
I HATE DirecTV. The apartment complex that I moved into in August 2003 only offered DirecTV...so we HAD to do that. We thought it would be GREAT. Se we only signed a 6 month lease...so we told the DirecTV people we ONLY wanted 6months of service and they said ok at the time. Well first of all the WHOLE time we had it we never recieved a bill....not once. We had to call them everymoneth to have it turned back on and to tell them we STILL weren't getting a bill so we didn't even know how much we owed. I told them at least 4 times that I was not paying another bill untill I got an itemized statement. I think they were charging us for stuff we didn't order too. Anyhow when we went to get it cut off when we moved out they told me I signed a 1 year agreement. First of all...no one was even there when they brought the recievers and all so I DID NOT SIGN A DAMN THING! Anyhow they agreed to suspend my account until I got a place of my own and then I would have to live out the 6 remaining 6months or I would have to pay the cancellation fee. Well SUDDENLY I start getting a bill AT HOME. (BTW, they never sent a bill to me at home or school) AND I WASN'T EVEN GETTING ANY SERVICE!!!!!!!! So I call them and I am all fired up so they agree to make me only pay a small portion of the cancellation fee and be done with it. Last month I GOT A F*CKING BILL FROM THEM!! So I called them...and they had turned me in to a collection agency!!!! OMG I was sooo pissed, I said that I was going to write them a letter and ask them which actor was going to perform a dramatic monologue of my letter. SO I am still dealing with their dumbasses.
SO NEVER USE DIRECTV, they suck. I HATE THEM!

I was considering switching to satellite because my ex-husband's seemed really cool and then he suddenly switched back to cable. I asked him and he said that every time the wind blew more than 5 mph and every time it rained or snowed hard, he lost his satellite. Given the number of trees around here, they block the signal when it's windy. Therefore, I'm sticking with cable (although I did ditch Comcast and moved to WideOpenWest because WOW is WAYYYYYY cheaper!)
