I attended the information sessions last night at FSU for the
SDT colonization. The response from the campus was overwhelming! About 275 women preregistered for the info sessions and even more just came to the sessions last night. In fact, they had to run multiple sessions in order to speak with everyone. Because of the number of women, they are shifting their base of operations over to the Union.
There were so many different kinds of women there - all ages, racial backgrounds, sizes, religions. It was great to see. The national officers I spoke with are so excited to be back at FSU and I met the Chapter Consultant that will be living here for the next year to assist the new chapter.
The current plan is to install the chapter by the end of October via an intensive 7 week colony program. They are securing housing and the chapter will be housed in time for Formal Recruitment 2005.
If any PNMs were at the last info session, I'm the Zeta that was introduced near the end of the evening.
I'm going out of town until Monday, so I'll report back any news I hear at that time.
Interviews are going on today and tomorrow. Tonight is their philanthropy event and tomorrow night is Pref. Bid pickup with be Sunday morning with bid day events and pinning that afternoon.
