To expound upon your comment, thatgirl, regarding Iota Phi Theta Fraternity's Sweethearts, Iota Sweethearts are indeed recognized as a legitimate auxillary to their Fraternity. I got that directly from a top executive in Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc.
Now, in all actuality the NPHC had/has nothing to do with that. If the individual organization chooses to have and recognize auxillaries, they have that choice. The NPHC is not a governing body for the 9 organizations. That is a misconception that many "outsiders" have and perhaps some members.
The Iota Sweethearts, from I understand, are nothing like the Kappa Kourts, Alpha Angels, Omega Pearls, and Sigma Doves. While those auxillaries MAY be incorporated or what have you, they are not recognized officially and legitimately as an entity within those respective fraternities.
Now, as stated before, this topic (not specifically about Iota Sweethearts) is addressd in another thread. Bring that one to the top by posting if you wish to continue the discussion. This thread is being closed.
