Fun Theatre Weekend...

Next weekend will be fun.

HONK! on Friday night at a local community theater and then Movin' Out national tour of the Billy Joel, Twyla Tharp rock ballet on Saturday night. (Saw Movin' Out in NY and it is fantastic -- see it if it comes to your town.

Anybody else seeing anything?

Last night I saw "A Thousand Clowns" at Theatre Arlington. It was quite good. Interesting note - the man who played the lead had played the little boy as a child actor!

I saw The Lion King a couple weeks ago. The costumes were amazing! Great show. My kids loved it too!

Went to see "Mamma Mia" with three sisters last week. It was cute!

We had so much fun that we've already made a date to see "Moving Out" in September, and we're even thinking about making this a regular girls night out for the 7-8 musicals we get per season!

I saw Les Mis on Mother's Day. Loved it! There were several really hot men playing the parts of the students.

Our local theatre group is putting on Cabaret until the end of the month. Evidently this is the most risque show that this city has ever seen (conservative Iowa). My neighbor went to it last weekend and got a kick out of all the little old ladies tittering in the front row because the actors were schmoozing on them.

Last month I saw Phantom of the Opera and Bombay Dreams in London. Last night I got the idea to look and see if Phantom was showing anywhere in Germany, and it was -- but it closed on Sunday!!! Waahhh! Why didn't I think to look earlier?
Instead I think I'm going to go see Cats in Dusseldorf or The Lion King in Hamburg.
