UrbanDictionary.com Word of the Day

I think it's great to develop a lengthy vocabulary. These days, kids are getting more and more creative with their vernacular and this website will help us all learn.

Every day, someone should suggest a word to study.

Today's word is bama

1. Bama
"Bama"
Originated from Black youth in Washington DC.
1. Original meaning was "cant dress well" or "fashion misfit"

That bama wearing a coat in the summer

2. Now the word has a more general use meaning "person", as how Whites use "Dude"

Tell bama to meet me at the store.

I have been wondering this for a really long time.

But can someone explain to me what "skeet skeet" means? I always hear Lil John say it.

Ohhh Bobby.

I heard "Get Low" on the radio a couple days ago and kept wondering why, for the radio edit, they had to replace all the dirty words and phrases but somehow managed to not only keep "skeet skeet" but actually say it TWICE AS OFTEN as they do in the dirty version.

Dave Chappelle warned about sharing the meaning of the word with white people, but everyone deserves to know.

OK so lets say I have to feed my grandma.

But I wanted to throw in a slang word for that.

What is the word for it?

so the conversation goes like this...

A: Dude, can you come over?
B: No man, I have to (insert word that means feeding your grandma) again.
A: Bummer.

Ahhhhh God bless DC slang!!!!

That's why no one from DC goes to the University of Alabama. The recruitment envelopes said "Be 'Bama Bound!"

Into the trash it went.
