Spring Break Reading!
Wanted to see if anyone had any new book recommendations, I'm going to head to the bookstore tomorrow to buy a few books for the cruise.

I recently finished "Save Karyn" by Karyn Bosnak. I wasn't sure I'd like it, but it was really funny and entertaining. The blurb on the back of the book says:
What would do if you owed $20,000? Would you A) note tell your parents? B) start your own website that asked for money without apology? or C) stop coloring your hair, getting pedicures, and buying Gucci? If you were Karyn Bosnak, you'd do all three.
Karyn started a funny yet honest website, www.savekaryn.com, on which she asked for donations to help her get out of debt. Karyn received e-mails from people all over the world, either confessing their own debt-ridden lives, or criticizing hers. But after four months of Internet panhandling and selling her prized possessions on eBay, her debt was gone!
Karyn details the bumpy road her financial and personal life have traveled to get her where she is today: happy, grateful and completely debt-free. In this charming cautionary tale, Karyn chronicles her glamorous rise, her embarrassing fall, and how the kindness of strangers in cyberia can really make a difference.
I've also recently read and enjoyed "Jemima J." by Jane Green, a cute "ugly duckling to swan" story and I also re-read an old favorite of mine "Story of my Life", by Jay McInerney. It's told in the first person by an 80's club kid in New York City. Kind of dated by now, but I like it

My mother just read Tuesdays with morrie and has been raving about it ever since! I told her once i finish the da vinci code i want to read it.

"Jemima J." is good! Also, the new John Grisham is out ("The Last Juror")...I've got that one already packed in my beach bag for the boat!
Along the same lines of "Jemima J." is "Mr. Maybe" - also by Jane Green. She's a great writer who tells a great story!!!
I would also recommend "The Weight of Water" and "The Last Time They Met" by Anita Shreve. You have to read them in that order though, 'cause they kind of go together. However, I read the second one first, but could still understand what was going on without having read the first one. But I wish I had done it the other way around!
ETA: Kddani, if you're interested in any of the books I mentioned in my post, I have all of them and could bring them for you so you wouldn't have to purchase them! I usually buy all my books, read them once and they just sit and collect dust.

life with pi was semi-interesting
in line with Tuesday with Morrie is the 5 people you meet in heaven...just as good
any dan brown is good, DaVinci Code or Angel's & Demons...i want to read the others

oops, i totally forgot about this thread!
i've obtained a copy of the da vinci code from my roommate, so that'll be on my list. when i think about it, that's probably all i'll have time to read. also going to bring 1 law book... that hasn't been selected yet.
ugh, spring break, then realizing finals are in like 6 weeks

I feel your pain with exams coming up! Somehow Spring Break approaching made me painfully aware of how far behind I am on my outlines!!!
As for books, anything by Jane Green is awesome (the author of Jemima J.)! British humor and of course, girly storylines!

Hitch Hikers Guide's "Trilogy" is a group of the best books I have ever read... You really need to read them.
