Do Not Heat Taco Shells In Toaster Oven

It causes fires, lol

Guess I'll use my Christmas money to buy a new toaster oven to use until we get the oven fixed, lol.

and for that matter - never try to make a grilled cheese sandwich in a bagel sized toaster - no matter how possible it may seem - it WILL NOT work...

not that i would know this fact from personal experience or anything...heh heh

Also, never leave an oven mitt on top of a toaster oven that is on. My TKE boyfriend in college did so and burned down the fraternity house when he left for class and forgot to turn the toaster oven off.

Smile I think we have a winner!

Dee, I hope so, lol.

I was afraid that hubby would start the deck on fire when he put the toaster oven on the wood planks, but I suggested that he put it on the grill instead, lol.

(BTW, I had to run down to the corner store to buy hamburger buns so we could put the taco meat on them, lol. ))

I made the mistake of leaving a plastic grocery bag on top of our toaster oven once---the bag totally melted and the whole house reeked! Won't make that mistake again!

When my oldest son was 3months old, I was sterilizing bottle nipples--in boiling water. (new mom, thought the dishwasher wasn't good enough) I took my son down to the family room, fed him, and was playing on the internet when the smoke alarms went off.
I ran upstairs-- I had forgotten to turn off the burner, I boiled all the water out of the pan, the latex nipples caught fire. I threw water on the flames--flames went away but there was a ton of smoke.
The fireman had to come to the house. It melted the front off of our over the range microwave, the back of the stove melted, there was smoke on everything-- whole upstairs had to be repainted because of the sute.
And burning latex stinks. We had to stay in a hotel for a week while the smell left, and the house was put back together.
After a $12,000 home owners claim our house (that was one year old) was like new again!!!
Don't ever leave ANYTHING unattended in the kitchen!!!
