Holiday Movies- Bad Santa, etc.
Cat in the Hat- many thought it was for children, but actually I've heard it should have received a PG13 rating. I'm interested in seeing it.
Bad Santa- The commercials have been killing me. It's letting you know THIS IS FOR ADULTS...NOT CHILDREN! I really want to see this one.

Re: Holiday Movies- Bad Santa, etc.
I DEFINITELY want to see both of these movies! I read in Lagniappe last Friday that The Cat in the Hat was sort of over the heads of some kids.
The Bad Santa ads have me rolling on the floor every time I see them!! This movie will be hilarious!

Me too! Me too!
I have GOT to see Bad Santa. Why does it look absolutely hilarious? I was dying when I saw the trailer and Billy Bob told the little boy and his mother off in the food court...
I'm not one to get into holiday movies, but this is definitely a must see!

thumbs up!
I took my son to see The Cat in the Hat this weekend and he LOVED it
However, I can understand why some children may not get it. Parents must use their discretion, and honesty...Don't take your child to see it if they're just gonna ask questions through-out the movie .....oh how annoying is that going to be
Bad Santa... my son finds the commercials quite amusing, however we will not go to see that movie, its obvioiusly not for children & I find the coming attractions to be corny

The Cat in the Hat was ok....some of it got on my nerves. Other parts were pretty funny. Not sure if kids will get the humor though. I think it was more for adults.
I want to see Bad Santa and Elf.

Bad Santa was OKAY. IMO, you can wait until it comes to PPV or DVD.
Did anyone see The Haunted Mansion?

Hated It
I saw Cat in the Hat this weekend. I fell asleep halfway through it. I think it's not for kids either, there was some "grown folk" jokes in it and Mike Myers was trying too hard...*snore*
I DO want to see Bad Santa though. Looks pretty funny!

I concur with the thoughts on Cat In the Hat. Some of the jokes were for adults. I went with a girlfriend, and between us, we had a 5, 7, and 10 year old. They enjoyed it. Sean Hayes is silly. I agree that Myers was trying a little too hard.

Sorry to all the AKAs. I just did a search for "haunted mansion" and didn't even realize this thread wasn't in the entertainment forum. sorry for the intrusion.

I saw Bad Santa this weekend. It was really cynical. More cynical than I am even (and that's saying a LOT, ladies!). MisterMadly liked it a lot more than I did, but it had it's funny moments.

I just got back from Bad Santa. I thought it was funny (some parts I LMAO), but some parts were really sad to me. I guess I'm torn over the movie for obvious reasons. But I shan't analyze the film up in here.
