Red face Food for Thought

I know this may have been discussed on more than one occasion, but a situation occurred so here it is again.

A young lady showed interest in ABC organization, attended rush and was rejected. She then transferred to another university where she attended rush (a year later) for ABC and was rejected, again. Well to make a long story short, chick went to rush for XYZ and is now an XYZ.

Is this something or what?

Well... I hope she is where she REALLY wants/needs to be. It just goes to show that a LOT of people don't put enough thought into their LIFELONG commitments... I mean what can you expect in a country where the divorce rate is over 50% (isn't marriage supposed to be the ULTIMATE commitment?)
And what about how little value people put in the lives of their children? (i.e. the recent news item about the twins who were sold, returned, and resold over the internet). So I say it's just a trickle down effect of what's going on in our country as a whole... Not too many people put solid stock in the commitments they make. "Changing your mind" is like the okay 'thing to do' but -- if people thought things through in the first place, they wouldn't have to change their minds so much.

Thumbs down

OMIGOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The exact same thing happened at my university. This girl who attended XYZ's rush 2 consecutive years was rejected both times. Her mom was a member of this sorority and even pledged the same chapter. She attended all of the sororities activites as well as participated in other activites she was told to do by this sorority. Anyway all I can say is that XYZ was in her heart from our freshman year up until our Senior year when she was rejected for the 2nd time. Her best friend was in ABC sorority. Anyway to make a long story short she attended the ABC rush and needless to say at the probate show guess who came out. You guessed it. She was on the line fellowshipping in a sisterhood sincere and rare! But it's so wierd because now her chapter sorors don't even claim her and I'm just like so why did you choose here. Needless to say ABC was not in her heart, she obviously did it to prove a point to XYZ and to me that's sickening!

My question is...
Was XYZ ever really in her heart? I understand that rejection must be devastating. But if you love something so much, it's hard to let it go. Sometimes, people feel like they have to be like their parents or maybe that girl felt like she wanted to share the sisterhood with her mother. I don't know. Wow, that's so sad.
